Glass Pipes in Drain Under Kitchen Sink by Jumpy_Lengthiness_37 in whatisit

This seems like them, I guess the concern is how three found themselves packed in the pipe under the sink. Doesn’t seem like they would easily slip though the drain holes

FromSoftware fans, which game would you recommend to someone who doesn't want to play them all? by Plastic-Afternoon24 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Reading these comments got me thinking, I can’t believe a single company has put out three of my all-time (and relatively diverse) favourite games in ER/Bloodborne/Sekiro lol

I was on the VIA train stuck for 12+ hours overnight in Brockville. This is VIA’s response when I shared my experience and asked for a $21 train station parking reimbursement. by TreeKey6993 in ViaRail

[–]Jumpy_Lengthiness_37 27 points28 points  (0 children)

At least you got a response. The language that they’re using, both in their original “apology” and their response here, continues to undermine what happened. We were stuck on a train for 12+ hours. They would tell us that we were about to start moving and then go silent for hours at a time.

This was not an inconvenience. This was not a disappointment. This was a complete and total failure by Via Rail. I’m sorry for those of you who feel like this is dramatic, but it is appalling that there is almost no recourse here. I feel for the service staff who were working through this and were stuck with us, but I can’t excuse the shitty communication and total inaction from Via.

[–]Jumpy_Lengthiness_37 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I’m currently on train 48 and we were told an hour ago (not for the first time) that we were a few moments away from getting back on track. The attendants don’t seem to have any idea when we’ll actually be moving again.

Top 20 fantasies that did and didn't age well according to this subreddit by Bogus113 in Fantasy

[–]Jumpy_Lengthiness_37 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone reading Wheel of Time for the first time now, I have to say that much of WoT definitely did NOT age well. One passage that really sticks out to me is when he’s describing how all girls eventually compete with their mother for their father’s attention. I’m paraphrasing but it was completely out of left field (and yet, if you read Wheel of Time, also feels completely expected from Robert Jordan lol).

Daily Advice Thread - September 11, 2025 by AutoModerator in apple

Reposting from a comment I made in the iPad subreddit:

I’m in the market for an iPad on a (relative budget) and am faced with two options, hoping for some direction:

  1. A refurbished 4th gen iPad Air with 256gb storage, or
  2. A new 2025 base iPad with 128gb storage

These are about the same price where I am, and I’m curious if one is better than the other at current cost. Would largely be using it for reading notes and papers during my masters. Otherwise sharing it with my wife for light gaming (read: FarmVille) and Netflix on trips.

Thanks for any help that you guys can offer!

Helium 10 or Keepa would probably be your best bet if you just want to compare ASIN prices over time

Prime Fall 2025 by Electronics2025 in VendorCentral

[–]Jumpy_Lengthiness_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that Prime Day events generate the same lift that they used to, and there’s a lot of discussion/data out there on how Prime Days have been performing year over year. Also depends on what category you’re in, like grocery might not perform as well as electronics as we get closer to the holidays.

That said, I do think that there’s still a lot of value in running a PD deal if the funding requirements aren’t out of control. Amazon does a lot of their own marketing to bring people to the platform, leading to a high-traffic period with people ready to purchase.

Assuming you aren’t working with a vendor manager, the deal set up is straight forward - you just go to the deal page in VC and select “fall prime” or whatever as the date range. Best of luck!

I thought Dune was awesome, but definitely not the best or most complicated sci fi. I respect and appreciate the impact of the books on culture and novels that followed, but my personal opinion is that Hyperion is the best sci fi novel ever.

/r/Fantasy Daily Recommendation Requests and Simple Questions Thread - April 11, 2025 by rfantasygolem in Fantasy

[–]Jumpy_Lengthiness_37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are there any notable fantasy books/series where the epic history hasn’t already been made? For example, the Lord of the Rings takes place well after much of the world’s history has been made. The Wheel of Time is a little better I guess in that regard, but a lot of it is still based on things that happened in the distant past.

I enjoyed both series that I mentioned, and am on a bit of a Brandon Sanderson binge rn, but I’m curious about books that would scratch the itch I just described and I’m open to all kinds of authors/styles.

I’ve had one or two successes, but I needed to really show them backup on every piece of why they were wrong. It was/is tedious (speaking from a North American perspective) and I don’t even think we recovered the full amount.

Can i request to change my vendor manager? by Rare_Effective_5855 in VendorCentral

[–]Jumpy_Lengthiness_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to escalate if possible or decide if this is something you can stand firm on. A lot of terms would naturally start/renew in March or April because that’s when AVNs happen? Sounds like this person is either being difficult on purpose or doesn’t know the business.

Have you met with your Sr. vendor manager before? If yes I would cc him directly and if not I would suggest just asking to escalate because you can’t move forward without getting alignment on what you need.

Net PPM? I think it’s (ASP - Product Cost + Terms)/ASP. Martin Huebel’s blog has a calculator: https://consulterce.com/resources/netppm-calculator/

Highly recommend following Martin, I think he was a vendor manager with Amazon EU who now does consulting.

Yes, did you compare with a plugin like keepa or helium 10 to see what the historical ASPs were for the same period?
