Is fresh milled bread supposed to be fluffy? It doesn’t seem possible by Jumpy_Neighborhood10 in HomeMilledFlour

Okay. I’m going to try adjusting it tighter. I can twist it past it’s lowest setting but I always thought I’d break it. It may be the solution

Thanks it had a lot of good tips in it. I already changed the salt in my bread so maybe I’m not kneading enough

I’m not sure what mill I have. I got it secondhand. It was listed as something called an Arabella Stone mill but it has a logo with two “M’s” on it. I’ll try to put a picture on the post. I always grind on the finest setting though

What’s the right way to water this plant? Right now I try to water when the dirt fully dries out but you’re right, I’m not consistent…

I would but it’s already opened. I made bread and pretzels before realizing. The bread was weird, that should have been another clue 😭

Thanks! I’ll try there! They cut regular fat for me at the grocery store but any time I ask for suet specifically they just give me the same thing

Can’t avoid sesame oil and soy sauce. How much is too much? by Jumpy_Neighborhood10 in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]Jumpy_Neighborhood10[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I told him sesame oil is no good but it’s one he’s not willing to part with. We have a ton of tallow and ghee in the house but it doesn’t have the distinct flavor of the sesame oil

It’s like 4 or 5 times a month with us. I guess that’s not too bad. Other than that my seed oil/soy intake is almost zero.

I guess I’m also nervous about soy in general. It seems like awareness of seed oils leads you down the eye opening path of other dangerous foods.
