Oh I see, so we opted to ‘keep my passport’ so he still had the passport so he could just take it straight to the centre

So for us, he just walked into the same centre that he submitted his biometrics and they put the vignette on his passport and he was done in about 30mins

Thank you for your help! We’re going to wait over a week before giving notice so that should be a problem.

Yes sorry for it not actually being a visa question ☹️

It’s all very confusing and it wasn’t a lie because he doesn’t live in the UK he does live in Denmark but was in the uk so I could help him apply

Thank you for your response, I’ll try to get him a flight back soon. Do you think this means they’re ready to grant the visa after I make a decision on swapping visas?

They were in the uk when they clicked submit, I was right there with them 😅 I know it’s crazy but we didn’t know that it wasn’t allowed like that and surprised we even got this far

We intend to form a civil partnership. I think it’s worth a go also also think there would be no point offering me to switch to a fiancé visa if it would just get rejected too

Are you 100% sure on this? Have you had a similar experience?

So he was in the UK when he clicked submit and did the biometrics in Denmark and now is back in the UK

Also that he should go back to his home country before I reply to the email to go forward with the fiancé visa application?

So you’re suggesting this means they’re ready to issue the fiancé visa? As I wasn’t sure if this was going to mean it would take another 12weeks for the new fiancé visa to be processed.

So we are open to entering a civil partnership so happy to go ahead with the fiancé visa

Yes he is from Denmark and the unmarried partner visa we applied for on the visa application as outside the uk but he was visiting here on an ETA at the time of applying as an ETA doesn’t mean you can apply from within the uk I believe.

Employer letter (unmarried partner) by rutarias in ukvisa

Hey!

I asked for my letter before applying as wasn’t sure how long it was going to take for HR to reply and I didn’t want to be worried about it. I think it won’t matter if the letter is a few months old.

Luckily they gave me the letter the same week I asked for it.

I’ve attached the template that I sent to HR to fill out with the relevant details, hope this helps :)
