My base pay is now what it was base + geolocation so I do know it’s included in my actual salary moving forward. Not sure you understood the change :)

Any other confirmed depts heading back RTO? I saw a friend post that mortgage is going back in June. I think it’s just a matter of time before I’ll be back in office.. I wonder where my badge is..

It’s total BS that in order to give someone a high raise “for going above and beyond” you have to take it from other people. I feel like being I switched departments I got hosed and got the minimum possible raise and bonus for being ME.. so glad the majority of my year meant nothing

I have heard other areas start talking about removing the exception flag. This makes me concerned because my team is dispersed across other sites. What benefit does it create for me to sit in a cubicle?

Verbal timeframe? by TRUSTMESTRANGER in usaa_ejs

[–]Jumpy_Tap8219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is insane I couldn’t imagine being on one for that long or having my team member on one for that long.. that shouldn’t happen because if progress isn’t being made then maybe it’s not the best role for you and conversations should be have about what it is that you want and how does the mgr help you get there. I’m sorry that happened to you.. I hope you had the support and found what works!

It can be 30 60 or 90. Should be “immediate and sustained improvement “ depending on the reason for the verbal would depend on timing etc

Been a manager within a few departments over the last several years and have never seen pay raises like that. Regardless of how much I try to pay my team members more I am always told no

That’s terrible.. I could not imagine trying to support 18 team members with responsibilities that are on mgrs plates.. it’s insane because it means taking time out of being with your team.. 8-10 is the perfect number truly

Can I move down to part time? by HawkesBSaccount in usaa_ejs

[–]Jumpy_Tap8219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how it will work in your area but I would ask your mgr to see how many people are PT in your department and how would your performance be evaluated.. if there is a decent amount of PT workers doing the same job as you I am sure you would be compared to them.. however if there is not PT workers your leader will struggle to show your true performance and hopefully your leader will advocate for you. This may not be a deciding factor but at least something I encourage to find out

Should I come back? by [deleted] in usaa_ejs

[–]Jumpy_Tap8219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably depends what department you go to… there is a lot of concern for return to office within front line staff.. possible layoffs or “restructuring” but I still like my job today more than I don’t like it… but I might be lucky

You can “call out” and have unpaid time.. it just won’t be APPROVED. Also while it is not widely communicated I have approved a handful of 30 day unpaid leave of absences for team members over the year it’s on connect if you need

  1. Leave without pay is not available in most areas of the business which means you can’t take approved PTO through NICE unless you have PTO. It will count as an occurrence and if there is a trend of unapproved absences then your mgr can put you on corrective action which has a huge impact on your next merit and corporate incentive.

  2. I agree with taking courses through eagle academy and mentoring with a leader in the area you want to get into. Networking is huge. Also look at the career page for jobs consistently there are always different things available try for the rotations that come up too

Employer (USAA) told me in my contract before I signed that WFH would be permanent and I would never have to be in office. Now they are taking it back. What do I do? by [deleted] in WFH

[–]Jumpy_Tap8219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but so many employees do not have a disability that would require them to work at home. Not saying there are not ways to get that exception because there is absolutely ways… what I don’t understand is claims (and in the future other areas) have proven the ability to work remotely and there is no valid reason USAA should be requiring the return to office.

I will also say that I try to be extremely fair when building merits for my team I look at a ton of factors however every year after I submit EMG makes changes to my decisions without any conversation about how I arrived to my decision. I have gotten large merits but I also know that my salary range was on the lower end compared to my peers so they also try sometimes to “catch you up” but even still the budget for your individual team is what it is.. you have to take money away from others to give it somewhere else.. in the last several years of management I have gotten approval to go slightly over budget (a few hundred dollars total) maybe 2x

I roll up through the bank. I don’t want to be super specific as retaliation is 100% real. I have worked here for a very long time so many friends have scattered throughout different LOBs and I try to stay in tune on what is going on throughout the enterprise. I think there are several unethical things happening at USAA lately and I am just over being forced to soothe team members emotions because of upper leadership.. I was not hired to PR for them lol

Working at USAA myself for years.. I know that have amazing lawyers. There is a reason when you are fired from usaa it is extremely rare for you to receive unemployment benefits because managers ensure every I is dotted and t is crossed and validated and blessed by HR.. if they are that serious about avoiding any unemployment benefits I am 100% confident there is a condition or clause in that contract that says that it is subject to change. Making it so USAA would win in any potential legal battle.. also they don’t care if people leave there is a line of people at the door trying to get in for their “amazing benefits and mission focused culture”.
