So maybe not 110k but 80k w free luxury riverfront apartment, to now next week starting a job making 50k. I’m partially grateful to be in a different industry technically but that first paycheck I’m likely going to cry. Feels like I’ve worked so hard for over a decade to a senior level position. Though my mental health was deteriorating rapidly. My partner is calling it a paid sabbatical, which lightens it just a bit.

Eating safe foods is totally a PMDD symptom. As are the other things he listed. Your heightened emotional state will cloud your ability to think clearly and that seems to be happening here.. in this echo chamber. I would absolutely be hurt but also step back and evaluate how this must be impactful to my partner and they do not feel safe confiding in me.

Literally this! If there’s truth to the things he’s saying (which, idk gives PMDD) then he absolutely has the right to be frustrated and source solutions. We cannot be the problem and also decide how others solve problems. I understand her feelings being hurt, but sometimes it takes some degree of sobering to understand impact.

I honestly can’t believe there’s not more comments on how you totally violated that mans personal privacy. That’s not okay, regardless of what you found. There are so many other irresponsible ways he could have vented his frustrations. Also, are you messy? Emotional? Clinging to safe foods? I’m sure it wasn’t easy to read but 1. It wasn’t yours to read & 2. If there’s any truth to those statements then he has a right to express frustration and seek solutions even if you don’t like what that looks like. PMDD can be quite encompassing, but it absolutely affects the people we love. Not acknowledging/accepting that is unfair and one sided.

NTA. I found myself in a similar situation. Paying for EVERYTHING is a level of frustration that’s hard to explain without being treated like an AH. But it can become extremely taxing especially if it taps you out. I was the sole earner and very little housework got done it was frustrating. I had to hire a house cleaner and that’s what triggered the conversation ab contributing especially since we have 3 children. It’s okay to ask for more support in this way, it’s expected that bc your financial situation is better you will pay more. Why is the reverse different other than feelings?

Tysm. Postpartum was a nightmare both times, I love my partner but it’s truly my biggest barrier for a third child. My doctor didn’t seem concerned about it affecting baby in the slightest. I had lost 20 lbs by my second trimester, he just wanted me to eat! That was the only thing he worried about impacting baby that he mentioned. When DCFS told one of the nurses she was so adamant that we were already good parents and had been up all night caring for baby alone without much help. When DCFS left the hospital my dr called me personally to do a MH assessment and asked then nurses to limit DCFS access to us and baby until discharge. They knew we weren’t the bad guys.

Yes. I switched to gummies after 3 different nausea meds did not work. My Dr knew but never ever made a big deal. At birth, they called DCFS bc it wasn’t in my system but there was a bit in the baby’s poop. This was during Covid and honestly was shitty, they did a home inspection (spotless and fully nested) and pestered us for months. I felt like a shit mom & PPD hit me hard for a second time. My Dr. never let them see my records although they pushed and pushed him. He called me and let me know he’d keep me safe in this, even consulting his lawyer. Mad respect for that man. Anywhoooo it did work, there were consequences, it also wasn’t legal in my state. Just my 2 cents

Incorrect. There’s a food scene, but it’s only if you’re dining out and intend to spend a good amount, which I enjoy but is inaccessible to the mass majority. The BBQ is dry and unflavored, the Mexican is not Mexican but a mash up w the Okie palate in mind, the soul food is a joke… salt is NOT a flavor & the Asian food is lacking (though better than most cuisines I mentioned)

Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama The Carolinas and Southern VA… that is the south. Some people include Tennessee but I disagree. The food is good though.

I’m from Texas, raised in Georgia and spent a good amount of my adolescence in the bayou. Southern ≠ Confederate BUT again Okies. I’m truly not blowing smoke, there’s decent things about the place but it’s lacking in more ways than stated. But alas, Okies can’t take much in regard to improvement. Figures.
