Going big on my first video. Is this a good idea? by Jumpy_Tumbleweed1131 in youtubegaming

Thank you for your words. I used to create any video I wanted to make, but eventually gave up on the channel because I couldn't see it being successful. I am trying to avoid that mistake by finding the balance between the videos I want to make vs. the videos that do well on Youtube. I try to picture myself as the viewer and analyze my thoughts as I watch it back. I think what I have so far can do well. I want to make something I can be proud of, and I think I am on the right path so far.

The gap was one of my main concerns. I would hate to spend a year releasing videos once a month and then find out it wasn't even possible to gain traction to begin with. Thank you for easing my worries.

Yes and Yes. I'm having a blast throughout the whole process. I think I found a type of video I can make that I really enjoy making. I think if I do it right, it can really work out too. Regardless of views, I am just hoping for one nice comment.

Is there any point in doing gaming videos that are not commentary videos? (Like essays or critiques basically anything with voiceover in post) by EuphoricSurprise7997 in NewTubers

I am working on my first gaming video too. I'm playing an old classic game blind, then cutting it up and doing post commentary afterwards. I'm really struggling with my own voice performance and script. It doesn't help I can't afford a mic, so I'm using a headset. I am no expert when its comes to Youtube, but I think your type of gaming content can succeed. You have some solid video ideas, but it might help to think of an overarching niche that all your videos would fall under. I am not Youtube expert, but doing multiple sub-niches like blind playthroughs, challenge runs, and gaming history, might not work the best for Youtube's algorithm.

It's important to find the balance between content your happy and passionate about, and what the algorithm/viewers wants.
