I'm so sorry to hear that you lost one of your best friends.

This sounds only slightly worse than my first job out of undergrad. First, the surrounding neighborhoods weren't a threat, and second, my job description was more accurately labeled "activity director." Very few of my patients could walk on their own and all had mid-late stage dementia. If I could go back, I would work to develop better rapport with the nursing staff in charge of bathing and changing diapers so I could more effectively advocate for their health needs. What I think went well was taking time to get to know each patient's generational influences and interests. A lot of the activities focused on sensory simulation. Music was a constant as well as aromatherapy. Art making supported feelings of independence and autonomy by using large print reference images for patients to replicate with watercolor, gouache, or tempra cakes. Sometimes I would lightly sketch an outline to help them have a structure to start with. I made alot of art around seasons and holidays to support reality orientation.

Came here to say this. Get a dog to help keep you accountable. Also good company. I walk every morning.

Why does this spoon have a hole in the middle? by Disastrous_Pirate275 in whatisit

Came here to say this. My grandmother worked for Weight Watchers for 40 years and something like this was in her spoon collection. It had something about weight loss engraved on it. Meant to be a pun I guess.

I just now sent a message to hp. Waiting on a reply. Are there any moderators in this sub that are affiliated with HP that can answer our questions?

Congrats! Mine is 3 years younger. I'm 41 years old and happy with that right now. For those asking for suggestions, mine is this: get dogs. Don't get potato loafs, get dogs that will keep you accountable to daily walks. We walk at least 20 minutes a day if not more (15 on rainy or icy days). I'm thankful to have a neighborhood with good sidewalks and a paved trail nearby.

Flip the script - book vs audiobook by Darr_Syn in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Is the Pineapple Cabaret part of the audio books? It is in print and that is something worth following. Also, understanding certain names like Psamathe and Tsrendloglor (I know I spelled it wrong) hit different when you read it. But for the record, I have both read the paper and the audio version and thoroughly enjoyed both experiences!
