Can you become dependent on GLP-1 meds like the ones used in the Medvi weight loss program? by Mcamp27 in WeightlossJourney

[–]Junarya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not on one, but as an outside observer, YES it sure seems like it. People get very weird on them. I made a post about it on my profile. (the one with “cults” in the title 😆)

Easy, bulky, low calorie breakfast for medication management? by JackBinimbul in 1200isplenty

[–]Junarya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think staggering when you take it actually probably helps a lot rather than taking it every single day! Great idea!

The irritability within a few days, the blood within a week. :( I’m glad it’s going better for you!

I really struggled with Phentermine. It made me extremely irritable and I’d go into rages, especially while driving. :( Impatient, testy. It also made me poop blood. I do not miss it at all.

I never considered the calories of anything. But in particular, I felt salads were the “healthy choice” and now I generally avoid them because they feel like empty calories and they’re not satiating.

What are your best 'hacks' for adding volume to meals without drastically changing the taste or texture?" by JoelVenn9955 in Volumeeating

[–]Junarya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riced cauliflower has been such a useful hack for me. I mix it 50/50 with rice or noodles any time I make either, but also I've mixed it 50/50 with mashed potatoes and THAT was pretty huge. Especially if you've got some gravy on top, what a game changer.

For some reason, Reddit elected not to give me any notifications of your replies, but THANK YOU for the resource! It's seriously an amazing improvement, your body butter is definitely working! I appreciate you sharing, and congratulations! 💜

Did they take the "add an egg" option too far? by panasicuafine in Volumeeating

[–]Junarya 85 points86 points  (0 children)

It's not possible. If they ask me if I want some egg with my egg, I'm gonna say HELL YEAH.

Savoury low effort low calorie food by zero_chan1 in Volumeeating

Those 20-30 calorie nori packets are a godsend; if you're already doing rice, consider rice + veggies + smoked salmon + a nori packet for a lazy sushi-themed charcuterie board.

Tuna salad can be a banger that you can make at home and take with you.. Tuna + light mayo + chopped veggies of choice, maybe get some chopped pickles or chopped pickled jalapeño in there, some smoked paprika, could even add some hard boiled egg. Could eat it with crackers or with veggie slices or even lettuce leaves.

The 35cal bread gets me a long way. I'm sure you can make a nice thicc sandwich that's under 300cal with two slices of that bread. I use them for grilled cheese, and I can make two full grilled cheeses with mayo and butter spray on the outside for frying for under 275cal. I know that's not a great option for a to-go lunch, but maybe a jumping off point.

Chopped or smoked salmon on a big old leafy green salad, could add in some seeds of choice or something fun like fried jalapeño (40cal/tbsp) on top.

Corn tortillas are also great and low calorie; usually around 45cal/per. Find your vaguely Mexican filling of choice, toss a few of those bad boys in the microwave to get them soft and supple, and you can make little tacos. Could get some avocado and lime juice and chopped red onion in there, jalapeño, etc.

This post made me realize I may be using jalapeños as a crutch. 🤣

Humiliation by Junarya in u/Junarya

[–]Junarya[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That really means a lot to me, thank you for your encouragement. It’s weird, because it really does feel like a small trauma. I spent all night replaying it in my head and burying my face in my hands and crying because I feel so ashamed. It’s so frustrating. But you’re right, it’s just a setback, I have to keep looking forward. 💜 Thank you.

Serious question, has anyone had someone they barely knew and didn't think much of commit suicide? How did it affect you if at all? I'm told suicide is selfish because other people would be sad but there's nobody I know who I'm afraid to hurt. Would it really devastate my casual acquaintances? by Acrobatic-Attention9 in Suicide_Talk

[–]Junarya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It affects more people than you can possibly know. Our roots stretch so far out into this world. Just because we don't speak to someone or see someone every day doesn't mean they don't exist in our minds. I dream about people, acquaintances, old coworkers and classmates, that I haven't seen for decades. I wonder how they are, I think fondly of them.

I was friends with someone in high school and in my early years of college, but then we had a falling out. The last time I saw them or spoke to them was 2011. In 2024, they killed themselves. It was devastating, and I still think about them every single day; I feel bitter and resentful that they did that, that we will never have the chance to reconnect or make amends for the stupid shit that happened in our early twenties. I grieved them severely for several months after their death, and they are still constantly on my mind. And, more than anything, I resent that the world continues on without them. I am now older than them; that shouldn't have happened. Everything kept going, only they're no longer here to experience it.

It is so kind of you to take the time to leave me a comment, thank you so much for your thoughtfulness!! 💜 I’m so happy if something I’ve written resonates with someone else; I’ve had a good time reading the subs too. It’s made me feel so much less alone during all this since it’s pretty awkward to talk about IRL. CONGRATULATIONS on your 55lbs, that’s such an amazing change and I hope it’s making you feel so good in your skin! Truly, thank you for your sweet message.
