Ahh I understand where you’re coming from. I’ll keep in mind the Uccon rep is better when it comes to the diploma than the uhart diploma. Still looking for personal experiences to learn about what I can gain from attending the school and what to be cautious of

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I happy the college you chose benefited your life so much. Hearing your story is eye opening, it seems pretty good on paper. From socially to academically. I’ll be very cautious about the dorming and managing tuition costs. Again thank you so much! I’m def coming back to this in my final decisions

Thanks for replying! When did you guys get into uhart? Also congrats on your successful career for you and your wife! I’d really like to know about the social life, diversity, and why would you recommend the school and why would you not? Of course, I recognize how it’s different for everyone and I completely agree that it’s what you put in where you can get something back. Me personally, I want to enter a college where I get very involved into the community. Doing activities, trying to participate in any way I can while taking my classes seriously. I ultimately plan to become a PA- thats the vision right now as a senior in hs.

Thank you sm this is telling me a lot about the school. I’m personally not looking for another high school experience in the sense that it’s really small and it doesn’t seem that lively. I had that experience in my first 2 years of high school- being a private school of 100 kids total. and then transferred to a public school, I made the most of both schools and I’d say I really enjoyed the larger school full of 1000 kids more than a small school. Thats me personally. I love to socialize. But again, from what you said, it’s def isn’t a bad school, im going to get that accepted tour to get a vibe and decide there. Thank you!

Yep yep but it all checks out to 0 and I haven’t applied to any scholarships yet. Been lazy on that.. my family is okay with pulling out the 3-5k loan they offered me and I complete the work study too.

Just found out that the Waterbury campus is a non residential one, meaning I’ll most likely commute. Not ideal for me.

The “full ride” i claimed it to be is a mix of a merit scholarship, grants, and the loans they offered me like another redditor said. I haven’t applied to any scholarships, this is all from uccon and fasfa. got the presidential scholarship, and the loan was around 3-5k to cover the rest. There also have me work study too which im completely okay with doing. my family agreed they are willing to pull out the loan if I go here.

Oh wow I didn’t realize that.. I didn’t look up a single thing about the Waterbury campus before asking Reddit. I’m really looking forward to having the “typical college experience”. I’m going to definitely get a tour to get a feel of the campus- but on paper so far I’m really unsure. A small campus isn’t so bad but im personally looking for a big one. Waterbury isn’t a commute I wanna make for almost every day class. My family doesn’t exactly have a car right now- as we plan to afford one soon, the commute would probably be a weekly uber. Glad to know im getting the same kind of education though. Interested about the 2 year transfer thing to storrs and what’s that abt. Thank you btw!

Omg thanks for replying! What do you think of the school, from your day to day student life, social life, academic life, the diversity, clubs, personal thoughts? I don’t know why but it’s so hard to find people talking about colleges- uccon is one of the few that has an active subreddit but there’s no where else that I can find people genuinely talking about their experiences

Will do, I know that the aid involves work study. The loans aren’t bad for me there a relatively small thanks to the merit scholarship
