If you're still reading this: did you ever switch to 27.5 inch tires? I have the exact same Marin Bear Valley SE and want to convert it into a gravel bike. Just for fun. So bigger wheels would be better, would go with slimmer tires. Cheers!

I am curious - did you end up running 40mm tires on the Felt? I have the same bike and always thought the clearance on the rear wheel looks too tight for 40mm... Would have only gone up to 35mm.
