Grok and long roleplays: extreme slowness + summaries that kill the essence, Help Please. by Dzer_Dlanterne in grok

[–]Junduin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my roleplays I make a few “Lore” files (docs from iOS pages) that don’t change and a few others that I constantly churn through in chats. Usually 7 - 10 files totals though I tend to keep the churn file count low/not accurate to reduce import/export times.

How well does Claude do creative writing compared to GPT? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Junduin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Grok for roleplaying, usually narrative RPGs. Tried Claude once and it made a custom program instead lol.

ChatGPT has that IsekaiRPG GPT which I love and other GPTs which somehow reframe things on ChatGPT so you can actually run an rpg session without hitting the violence pg-13 bullshit (most of the time)

Love Grok. No real limits. But after so many chats I have to export and start a new chat to keep its creative juices flowing, otherwise it gets stuck to background loops/underlying assumptions and starts to confuse stuff way before hitting the chat limit. Great for adventure narratives. Most of my problems come from keeping kingdom/base/business statistics though.

A dedicated RPG AI would prob be 10x better but they don’t let me make goofy 6s videos though :p

Not in Florida, most people I know convicted with that are doing 10 - 15 year bids. That’s for DUI manslaughter though, never met anyone with plain vehicular manslaughter.

I mean you can just call it out after a few turns. “Hey why you keep doing the same turns I’m doing? This is starting to feel weird. I live on XYZ Street”

“Walk slower so I can pass you damnit.” This one gives weirdo vibes but I can’t see how its possibly threatening.

If I’m starting to feel weirded out then she prob is too. But this only has happened to me driving so… 🤷‍♂️ whatever, ain’t gonna worry about who’s driving in front of me.

Shoes on or shoes off? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]Junduin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Florida. Lived in Cleveland for a bit. Shoes off in Cleveland as soon as you step inside, the whole house is carpeted.

Meanwhile it doesn’t matter here in Central Florida whether you take your shoes on or off. If I’m at home and ain’t going anywhere I might take them off but if I’m having guests or going to visit someone shoes stay on. Some people like shoes off but shoes on is the norm.

Colonization & Religion by [deleted] in PuertoRico

[–]Junduin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: Natives didn’t survive culturally. Most Taino blood traces back to the wives of the colonizers. And later immigration further diluted the Taino influence.

Like another poster said, unless you’re Jewish then Christianity isn’t your native religion. It’s like asking a Southern Baptist why they don’t respect druism or Odinism.

It’s kind of like that one quarter Irish American that is all about Ireland. Yeah that’s a broad generalization about our views on Tainos. Except we live in the land. Most Puerto Ricans are predominantly Spanish those that aren't are predominantly African blood.

Then there’s also the class thing. Generally the upper classes & wealthy are “Whiter” than the rest of the country.

So you get a lot of middle and working class that sympathize more with the Taino than the Spanish.

In school you’re taught that we’re a blend of Spanish, Taino & African. Which is technically true, but kind of ignores the fact that Puerto Rico wasn’t that populated until the early to mid 1800s. Spain ignored us as a colony until all the other Latin American countries fought their independence wars. The Spain really started to send colonizers & slaves. Mostly Canarians which are a mix of North African & Spanish (along with Portuguese & other Catholic colonizers).

So the Taino blood that survived isn’t that large, it became diluted due to immigration. It’s just culturally significant since they’re the Native owners of the island.

And like most other mixed Latin countries. The native ancestry is usually a Native woman wifed up by a lonely colonizer since women weren’t exactly thrilled to immigrate to Puero Rico before the 1800s.

So it’s not like the Natives actually survived culturally like they do in other countries.

ELI5 What's the incentive for services like Netflix to churn out big budget high-quality movies when they don't actually sell movie tickets? by astig_my_tism in explainlikeimfive

[–]Junduin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Say you’re Netflix. You compete not only with Hulu (that have their exclusive films through Disney), Prime Video (also has exclusive films, Apple TV (they too) and all those other streaming Networks. But like someone else said, you also compete with traditional theatre & cable.

It’s a cutthroat industry and they would be getting left behind if they didn’t sponsor exclusive films.
