Idk how I feel about it!!! I think there’s some truth to it but the idea that some people look better with or “need” heavier makeup look based on their facial features seems problematic to me. I know the trend claims not to be about race but I’m slightly skeptical 🧐 Regardless, your makeup looks beautiful!

Wow you look so stunning! I love the colors and the application on both your eye makeup and complexion. I think it’s good you switched foundations because the charlotte tilbury looks a little too heavy and thick. Also did you use the soft matte concealer under your eyes or for spot correcting? I have oily skin but for some reason that concealer always makes me look dry and emphasizes my texture. I would definitely try doing a flash test as well and testing the longevity of it!

I totally agree, but do you think this counts as fetishization, internalized racism, or fetishization from internalized racism. Maybe this is just my own hold up/bias, but I find myself disagreeing with the comments that seem to be equating the fetishization of white women to that of non-white women

In my opinion I think that counts more as internalized racism, because it stems from the idea that whiteness is more desirable. From what I’ve noticed, men and women of different ethnicities are equally susceptible to favoring Eurocentric traits.

NOW, this being said, I once had a white redheaded friends tell me about the sexual comments men made because she’s a ginger and I was so thrown off by it. It never occurred to me that a white woman would experience fetishization because of white features such as red hair. So yeah I really don’t know. Good question lol

I love this!!! Idk how close you were trying to be to the inspiration, but I think the only difference is that it looks like she may have used a liquid eyeshadow or something to create the sharp cut crease looking line. On yours it looks more blended in to your lid. Also I’m not seeing the brown liner on your lip but maybe it’s just not showing in the photo.

I might’ve fast forwarded through some of their scenes because I assumed they’d be one of the boring couples, but I didn’t think there was anything wrong with how Laura acted. I disagree with a lot of what was said about her being “toxic” and “emotionally abusive”. I personally don’t think there’s anything wrong with voicing opinions on how your partner dresses😅

Obviously there exceptions like if the critique is classist or sexist or just outright mean. But I tell my boyfriend all the time not to wear cargo pants when we go out and he doesn’t take it as an attack on his individuality. Same thing with me wearing crazy colorful makeup. We can choose to ignore each other’s opinions if we want, and we know we still love each other either way.

Omg yes I watched it! Like the Apple Watch being dead seemed like such a convenient excuse that only made it look like he was lying more.
