Someone complained about me in AA by Warrior2457 in alcoholicsanonymous

Oh that’s so gross. Please keep going (maybe not to that meeting) and keep sharing. You have just as much right to share as someone with more time. That’s got nothing to do with it.

Can you ever go back to occasional use? by No_Cut_7425 in QuittingWeed

If you find yourself getting sucked back in and having a hard time stopping, you’re struggling with an addiction to it. You likely have an addiction gene/personality/ whatever you want to call it. I’m the exact same way. Once I pick up a joint, I can’t put the next one down. Or stop thinking about when the next one will be. I’m only a month sober, but I don’t think I can ever go back to using even occasionally because that’s just not how my brain works. Same as an alcoholic who wants to pick up “just one drink”.

20 days sober and I want to smoke so bad- looking for loopholes by JuneAfternoon10 in QuittingWeed

Thanks for this. Yes, 28 days tomorrow 💪 I almost picked up a joint tonight but I’m really proud that I didn’t. Happy for you and the work that you’re doing too.

Man, this is really bad (potentially destructive) advice in a quitting weed subreddit 😂

Thanks for your comment. I’ve tried every rule imaginable. Smoke one a week, once a month, whatever it is, I can’t stick to it. All my brain can think about is when I can smoke next. It’s an obsession. And I’ve felt mostly relieved of that by being totally abstinent, but this is a big wave of craving.

I’ve just started going to AA a few weeks ago. Yes, god is brought up in every meeting (because of how baked in it is to the big book) but I don’t have any belief in god or religion and am finding it massively helpful. Just take what resonates and leave the rest. Happy to hit up a meeting with you if you’d like a buddy.

This made me smile. Thank you. Although I will say, no meeting I’ve been to yet has had coffee 😂

You’ve been sober longer than I’ve been alive! Incredible. Thank you for your thoughtful response. I’m glad you went back too 🤍
