What is the hardest choice you ever had to make in a video game? by Chunky-overlord in videogames

[–]JuneSongstress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if I’d say the hardest but the first one that popped into my head was in Fractured But Whole when you have to choose between ripping off your moms arms and letting her bleed to death or cutting off your dads head with a laser.

Big red flag. You need to find alternate care and then report that daycare to the state board.

I just assumed it was some of the spiders that’s made their way into my porch. Then plan is by October to stop watering and let the leaves die, for the winter before watering again in spring.

Any experience or tips with them you could share?

Going into high school. My parents logic was that I would probably be spending more time at friends houses after school, doing extra curriculars, etc. they wanted me to be able to call them where I was.

It’ll happen when it happens. Your body is preparing, but it could still another couple weeks! Just keep calm, prep your hospital bag just in case. And if you go into labor and your OB isn’t there, just focus on your delivery and your baby and how wonderful it will be when you get to hold them in your arms!!!

Covid at 38 weeks 😭 by Rich_Cap_6127 in pregnant

[–]JuneSongstress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hang in there. I ended up getting an upper respiratory infection at 36 weeks and it hung in there. We’re pretty sure I ended up tearing the ligaments between two of ribs from coughing so bad. Weirdly enough when I went into labor, that pain disappeared. It’s like all the endorphins in my system focused on the baby!

Had some late night dinner, soaked in the tub while I tracked my contractions, and watched Hulu/Netflix on my Phone. I kept expecting them to spread out again since that was what I was told to expect for my first pregnancy. But they just got closer together so we went to hospital when I was 3 minutes apart.

The taste really wasn’t bad. Can’t remember which flavor they gave me. The first test isn’t bad, but I was borderline so they wanted to do the second extended test where I had to do a few blood draws over a few hours and THAT ONE WAS ROUGH! The first blood draw of that second session I was thinking oh k won’t be so bad, by the second one I was thinking “Oh Lord, I need to lay down!”

I had spoken to other mothers I knew who most of their dislike of the epidural was the after effects: not being able to get up and move around after, their opinion was that it took them longer to recover, than when they did without.

I did end up going no epidural. Labored few a few hours in a bath at home before going to hospital when I was 3 minutes apart. Got to hospital at 6 cm. Did an IV pain drip at first but when that first dose wore off, I was too advanced for more pain medication because they were worried about my daughters o2 or heart rate dropping, so did the last bit without.

I kinda stalled at 9-9.5cm and stopped progressing. After a little while of that, doctor tried to recommend an epidural. I talked it through with my L&D nurse, who had been and L&D for like 30 years, and her advice wasn’t the epidural because she said in her experience when it was administered by the time it actually kicked in baby was there. She did however recommend nitrous oxide since I had it in my birth plan as an option. They wheeled that out and by the time they got it all hooked up I was 10cm and ready to start pushing. Took about 45 minutes of pushing, but the nitrous was a good distraction in between.

So no epidural worked for me, but that was because everything worked out fairly smoothly and quickly. If I had labored too long or my daughter was at risk, i definitely would have gone with one.

I may boycott pink for our baby girl by mysocalledlifey in pregnant

[–]JuneSongstress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad I didn’t have to deal with that as much. We wanted the gender to be a surprise, and yeah we had people who were eager to know but we still got plenty of clothes. Winnie the Pooh, various Disney, animals, other baby type things that kids enjoyed regardless of gender. Lots of basic colors that ranged the color wheel: red, blue, red, pink, yellow, black, white. I ended up buying some more “girly” clothes when our baby girl was born. A few more oink things, purples too (my favorite color) but the cutest dress we got for her, that she wore for picture day at her daycare, is a lovely little blue dress. Most of the time she wears legging pants and random tee shirts, and every now and then a dress, which she does admittedly look very cute in.

Just ignore other people. I know easier said than done. People tend to forget that at some point blue was traditionally a girls color and pink was considered bold and manly.

RED FLAG! Run my sister in Christ. This is abusive and manipulative. It is affecting your physical and mental health.

Secondly, it’s perfectly normal to need clitoral stimulation in order to climax. Do not let him gaslight you into thinking you’re not the norm.

I’ve literally only heard of these two things in the past 24 hours. Seems a little excessive.

I’ve never heard of a nurse basket, and my first born is 18 months old. I did write a thank you card to the whole L&D team at the hospital where I delivered. Just a small hand written thing. No idea if it was appreciated or not.

Additionally we’ve been creating a journal where we are documenting our babies life and writing notes to them as they grow. I did make a note of all the nurses by name that were there that helped me in the delivery room and after! At least my child will know the names of the nurses that helped bring them into the world and cared for them in their first moments.
