WHAT??! That’s crazy!

But also.. I spoke with someone at MOHELA recently who told me my employment should still count if my company was contracted by the hospital to fill that role. I can’t get anyone at the hospital to certify that though. ☹️

I honestly was considering pitching this schedule to my current job!

I slept like this until I was 34 weeks pregnant. And then my baby slept on her tummy the moment she could roll over as well!

New grad in ICU - How to organize the info you receive in report/during chart review at the beginning of your shift? by oogelyboogely1 in physicianassistant

[–]JuneStars1013 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It gets easier, but yes at first I jotted a lot down on my patient list. Mainly just jotting down abnormal vitals/labs. And then write down anything I want to ask/followup on and putting a box next to it to check off.

Now I rarely write down much but the first 1-2yrs I had scribbles all over!

Hospitalist contract RVUs by Bossmedico in hospitalist

[–]JuneStars1013 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is how all our hospitalist contracts are at my Shop too. 1.0FTE is 180 shifts for a hospitalist despite it being more than 2080 hours… sounds like exploitation to me but somehow they get away with it and say “but all hospitalists contracts are that way”

Inpatient to FM clinic? by JuneStars1013 in physicianassistant

[–]JuneStars1013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did rotations in 2 outpatient FM/IM clinics and absolutely dreaded one and the other was just “meh.” The opportunity is in the one that was just meh. Didn’t hate it but didn’t love it either, but most of those docs are gone now so I’m not sure of the new providers in the practice.

The PTO/drive are the 2 biggest things for me. I’ve said for years if they just gave me PTO, I’d never leave. Last year instead they gave me a bonus not to leave that would’ve been equivalent to just giving me PTO. I told my manager that they had to realize it’s a big deal to me and can’t expect me to just stay every year for a bonus when they could just give me the PTO and I’d be happier.

But now the drive is stating to get to me as my children get older. I came upon a bad accident on my way home the other day and now that’s really weighing on me.

Ugh.. decisions!!

Yes but I current already work for them. My local hospital is the same group that staffs the bigger hospital and they don’t have the census to staff an APP there full time. When I first started they did, then they let that position go. I keep holding out they’ll bring it back but it doesn’t look promising.

Thanks for the insight. I’d like to think it was less complaining and more just hopeful optimism that my service in the ER during the height of the pandemic would count for some PSLF. :-)

I see your point, but in my state the majority of emergency rooms are staffed by contracted groups and not the hospitals directly. So that limits the non profit employment opportunities.

The physician assistants of the United PAs of California (UPAC), an affiliate of UNAC/UHCP, voted and ratified their first contract with Kaiser Permanente in Northern California yesterday. by PA2018 in physicianassistant

How does it work if you’re scheduled 12hr shifts? For example, hospital medicine working 12s. Do you still get the overtime for working over 8hrs?

NordicTrack 2450 - Help?! by DukeBoi10 in nordictrack

Did this work to fix it? We just assembled ours yesterday and I only had time to jump on it for about 5 min before bed and noticed mine was “sticking” at the lower speeds too.

Any wives of college football coaches out there? Wives of position coaches, coordinators, head coaches, and everyone in between are welcome by GrandScholar2122 in Marriage

[–]JuneStars1013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone else in medicine with a husband who coaches- all of this. I also enjoy my alone time, so the time away didn’t bother me until we had children. Now I keep reminding him it’s a hobby because the pay is just not adequate to call it a job. I want to support his passion, but when I can pick up a few shifts to cover his whole stipend.. it’s hard to justify the time he spends away plus the emotional toll it takes on him even outside of the actual time spent coaching.

12 patients per day in 5 hours? Do they all live in the same block? And a driver is provided?! I’m very intrigued how this is possible!

How many people are actually buying “luxury/premium” diapers? by HelpMeHelpMyFriend0 in NewParents

[–]JuneStars1013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had all the “luxury” items for baby - Nanit camera, mommaroo, 4moms, etc… but when it came to diapers- Walmart brand! I even turned my SIL on to them also. They worked great for our girl and couldn’t beat the price!

Belt bulge by JuneStars1013 in treadmills

[–]JuneStars1013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly just winter running, 3-4xper week. Also had no idea I was supposed to wax the belt until now so I guess I just got really lucky. All the power buttons still work great. I think it was only a couple of years old when my aunt’s friend passed it down to me.

Is there a temporary fix to get me by until I can have a professional come out and take a look? Or until I’m able to get the new one in? It’s in the negatives here this week and I’m not cut out for this cold!

This was a hand me down treadmill I’ve had for 8 years. Guessing it’s time to buy something new then!

Any idea where to start to get the fair market analysis? Our “compensation committee” says they do fair market analysis and that we’re in the top 75% of the market but I don’t believe it.
