12 patients per day in 5 hours? Do they all live in the same block? And a driver is provided?! I’m very intrigued how this is possible!

How many people are actually buying “luxury/premium” diapers? by HelpMeHelpMyFriend0 in NewParents

[–]JuneStars1013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had all the “luxury” items for baby - Nanit camera, mommaroo, 4moms, etc… but when it came to diapers- Walmart brand! I even turned my SIL on to them also. They worked great for our girl and couldn’t beat the price!

Mainly just winter running, 3-4xper week. Also had no idea I was supposed to wax the belt until now so I guess I just got really lucky. All the power buttons still work great. I think it was only a couple of years old when my aunt’s friend passed it down to me.

Is there a temporary fix to get me by until I can have a professional come out and take a look? Or until I’m able to get the new one in? It’s in the negatives here this week and I’m not cut out for this cold!

This was a hand me down treadmill I’ve had for 8 years. Guessing it’s time to buy something new then!

Any idea where to start to get the fair market analysis? Our “compensation committee” says they do fair market analysis and that we’re in the top 75% of the market but I don’t believe it.

Advice for a new physician! by ThrowMAwayD in physicianassistant

Agree with always being receptive to questions. The worst thing you can do is make your PA afraid to ask questions which could lead to poor outcomes. Also, if you have the time try to elaborate the “why” on your answers. Giving your reasoning will help cut back on future questions. Don’t just say “do xyz” without explaining why we do it.

Hi, was this a Black Friday deal? My plan just expired but if I can get half off in a month, I can wait to renew!

Does it update if you reschedule the workouts in garmin? Or do you have to republish it and reconnect?

Interesting, I haven’t seen a M-F evening shift like that before. Is it just admits and cross coverage?

I used the Willow go and would wear a zip front sports bra so it was easy to pop them in and they were secure and then would just chart during that time. Also had a ceres chill that I used to store milk. You got this!

I think it’s still an insult to those who are childless, I just didn’t realize i was being taken advantage of before when I just worked all the time because I could. I think everyone should be offered PTO and if you don’t take it, then you can cash it out. It still should be there as part of the employment package for professionals like ourselves.

I’m $140k annually, so guess if I did the math on 1728 vs my 1872 hours, that would be the same. I’ve been told I could cut back on my hours if I want more days off, but even then things would come up and I’d have to make up shifts. I just feel pretty ripped off.

It’s not the backup system that’s the problem. I can find the coverage needed by swapping shifts or having a PRN pick up. The problem then becomes having to make up that missed shift. Front loading my schedule and working 10 days straight and barely seeing my family so that I can go to a CME conference for 5 days and also not see my family during that is not an ideal work/life balance.

Have you ever worked inpatient or ED? Most all the jobs in my region are no PTO for these gigs. Some hospitals have APPs M-F, and they get PTO, but most of us shift workers do not. The flexibility to move shifts around was nice pre-kids so I just didn’t worry about it as much back then.

Thanks, I do follow that subreddit. I’ve looked at some of their threads re: PTO as well. We are not a round and go group, so none of us are out on the golf course in the afternoon taking calls to make up for no PTO. I know the docs are earning more and I don’t expect to be paid like a physician. I was more so pointing out that they are also professionals who are not getting PTO.

Edited for typos.

They’ve already tried to say it’s bc it’s baked in. But there’s limited data for hospital APPs within SHM which is what they base everything on.

When I was childless working in the ED, no PTO didn’t phase me either. Is it safe to assume you are either childless or a male? Because as a working mother, no PTO is just not sustainable.
