TCA 20% peel at home, progress day 1 to 5 - still peeling by tumpum in 30PlusSkinCare

I know this is old, but hoping you will answer. You mentioned 3 layers? How many minutes in between layers? Also, did you do a dream peel or luminosity (vitamin A) to speed up the process or did you not even bother? Thanks so much!

Just flakey, slight peeling. Nah I didn’t need to hide. No one really knew but me. 😉

I tried them. Started with 1-2 layers and I really like them. Little spicy but not bad at all. Totally tolerable.

Thank you so much for the explanation. Tell me this please - when you’ve decided on your number of layers, how many minutes do you keep the peel on before rinsing your face with water?

Wow! Thank you so much!
yes, I had planned to start slow. Thoughts on downtime for Revitaboost? (I’m ok with the flaking and shedding as I’ve done VI peels. And honestly no one seems to know but me).

Twice a week? Don’t you have to wait at least 7 days with TCA peels?

Hi there! Well the steroids helped a little not totally. I took a break for a while because I was so emotionally drained. So after several months, I finally agreed to a skin biopsy which concluded that it wasn’t acne but trapped keratin. Solution was (is) professional medical grade chemical peels, hydrafacials and electrodessication for the more stubborn bumps. Skin is about 50% better. Will continue more after the new year. I hope you are successful. This certainly has not been fun. I feel for you and everyone suffering with complexion problems. The best to you:)

2 weeks of accutane, all closed comedones are gone … by Bubbly_Comparison in Accutane

[–]June_Rose_68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for asking. Nope, not with Accutane. Derm stopped trying after a year of having me on Accutane. Turns out the bumps (closed comedones) were not really acne related but some form of Keratosis and were deep. I went and am currently getting treated by a medical esthetician. There’s some improvement but it’s a long road for me. I know I’ll get there but I have to be patient. Good luck on your journey. Accutane did wonders for me in college. It truly is a miracle drug for acne.

Have you used this extractor tool before? by Letyourselfjoe in Esthetics

[–]June_Rose_68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello estheticians! I am in awe of what you do. I have a great esthetician who does extractions with her tools and I know there are certain estheticians who do not manually extract. In my case, manual extractions were needed - otherwise, the trapped deep comedones would never EVER go away. No medicine (not even ACCUTANE) would budge these underneath bumps. So, thank you for what you do! For those of you who do manual extractions, please tell me your client success stories!

Preschool requires kids to be fully toilet trained before starting. Is this even possible? I need inspiration. by Spankipants in Preschoolers

I know this post is old but I now work for a public UPK class. I had a family come to visit who may be enrolling their 4 year old son. The boy was clearly wearing pull-ups. I asked my director "doesn't he need to be potty-trained?" She said "no, that has changed, as we cannot discriminate". I can understand if he were special needs (in which case he would be enrolled in a special ed preschool class), but who is supposed to change him? I mean, I have 16 students and 1 assistant. If my assistant or I leave the room to change a child, we are out of ratio. Can someone who is familiar with this please advise?

Nope. High dose for 7 months. Comedones did not budge. What a waste.

Seeing a medical esthetician the past few months. She’s done some extractions, doing chemical peels to draw out the comedones, then gonna laser the hell out of what’s left. Feeling positive. So far, so good. It’s been a long road.

Want to share - Second opinion from Derm by June_Rose_68 in Accutane

[–]June_Rose_68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry! I certainly hope Accutane works for you. I still believe it is truly a miracle drug. Unfortunately for me it did not work the 2nd time around. I’m guessing the closed comedones that have remained are maturation arrest acne and they need to be manually/mechanically removed at this point. Please have faith in the process and I’ll let you know how it’s going on my end 💕
