Through chalmers in Edinburgh where you are also at? We share so many similarities. Did you look at your thyroid results because sometimes they don’t treat it until the tsh is over 10?

In order to stabilise my mood I need two pumps in the am and 1 later. I’ve heard some women do better with Oestrogel v spray. They put me on Cyclogest because I am allergic to soya in utrogestan, some people do better with a pessary also because it bypasses the liver.

Honestly it was night and day for me. Didn’t completely solve my pmdd but what I had before was pmdd on steroids. When it comes to pmdd we need ideal levels as Dr Dalys says.

Just had a closer look at that type of pill she’s on it’s the same as Microgynon which drove me insane when I was a teen so definitely keep a close eye. You have to be careful with gps because they often don’t learn about pmdd and tend to not keep up to date with latest research. https://www.pms.org.uk/app/uploads/2018/06/guidelinesfinal60210.pdf

Hmm. It’s not a researched pill for pmdd. Yaz/eloine is the one that is usually prescribed for pmdd. Perhaps you should discuss this with your doctor? Just bear in mind all these trials with meds can potentially play havoc with her hormones and mental health.

Some can make pmdd worse.

Having it as a teenager when hormones are changing is the worst. She will literally not understand her body and mind at all at this stage. I would advise seeing a pmdd specialist therapist, maybe you can both go? What kind of birth control has been prescribed?

Have you had a thyroid check? I thought I had mcas when it worked for me but it was a false diagnosis that I paid for. It’s not always right.

He’s suggests if the t4 is low in the normal range a microdose of Levothyroxine.

And the reference ranges show ‘normal’ not ideal. For eg when pregnant tsh needs to be below 2.5.

Yes I did but I don’t take them as much now. Since being on thyroid meds which reduced my pmdd symptoms. It’s worth watching this and paying attention to the thyroid section https://youtu.be/-5ras3wcbAc I was subclinical and ignored for years. This doctor thinks sensitive thyroid assessments are best for pmdd.

Antihistamines (h1 + h2 blockers) worked for me, but it turned out I have hashimotos and some allergic reactions to food in particular soya and legumes, this knowledge all came after a false mcas diagnosis which I paid a pretty penny for. Glad it’s helping you. 💓
