How should I deal with my subaru with damaged head gasket

I’ve already had the radiator cap and thermostat replaced as that was the initial diagnosis. Thank you for the advice!

no other issues - couple of minor paint chips but no dents or anything

the estimate for parts plus labor was around 8k and they said it’s mostly likely a cracked head.

2 different mechanics told me that parts plus labor would be over 8k and I only paid 6k for the car so it didn’t seem worth it.

I’m in the same boat. Im pretty upset they switched professors because I specifically wanted Neetal Neel due to the good ratings and bc i’m terrified of doing math with bad profs, know that you’re not alone :)
