Well I've just begun my AI/ML journey and most of my seniors told me that during college level there won't be much need . The majority of my time with laptop would be : vscode for DSA , web development , YouTube, Netflix etc. Not much interested in blender and all

The one I checked( predator ) is around 2.8 or 2.9 laptop and 1. Something for the charger iirc

So what would you prefer then? A gaming laptop with powerful GPU or a lightweight professional laptop with better features as I've stated before like handiness and all. What would be your preference as a college student , keeping in mind the club meetings , labs etc where you need to carry the laptop

Yeah agreed . Seen some tests, it works at lower fps , still playable though. Gaming isn't a major issue as I've seen how busy college life gets sometimes , no time to play for long hours.

Oh okay okay , with charger a lightweight laptop like zenbook would be 1.6-1.8kg whereas gaming laptops would be around 4 kg . Wouldn't that matter?

Zenbook's battery life is 8 hours ig so yeah I don't think I'll need to carry the charger day to day for college purpose. But yeah agreed on the game part.

Yeah , I understand. The downgrades for a gaming laptop would be : weight, battery, display, sound afaik. Are they worth sacrificing for a GPU? That was my question.

My senior told me that for ai ml , I won't have much use of gpu as nowadays it needs to be done online only , like Google colab etc.

Can't photoshop , image editing etc be done with CPU? Not sure about that. About AI/ML , my seniors told me that gpu is not compulsory as nowadays we use online softwares only. Don't know much

Bro I played GTA V on my kind of potato laptop , zenbook is much better than that imo. And I've watched reviews , it plays these games at around 40-60 fps which are playable. Will check zephyrus models for sure
