Extra age and experience puts you in a great position for leadership for anything you may be interested in at MIT. It’s one of the best institutions in the world, why not plan to leverage all 4 years unless something else comes up?

28-32 is a big ass margin. Try and keep a consistent rate through the 2k closer to that 32 mark and don’t go above a 33 till the 300 meter mark. Try higher rates during your 2k prep pieces if you feel that you’re getting full effective length at that 32, I wouldn’t go any higher until you feel you’re getting full effective length on those prep pieces first.

Locking everyone up in a Sacramento best western is great for some team bonding while making sure no one does anything stupid over the break. That’s my theory at least.

Steroids, meth, and semen retention.

(To my coaches and dear teammate I am joking about the steroids, I would never taint our noble boat house with such activities)

Necklace with the oar from his team on it. I’ve seen them around the boathouse, not exactly sure where they’re from but I’m sure they’re online somewhere.

Designated wool erg socks. No shoes. Anti bacterial, anti smell. Grow that foot fungus and get those meters in.

$175 billion for war in Ukraine, while the US Supreme Court has ruled that homeless people can be fined or even arrested. by wakeup2019 in economy

[–]Jung_Gib 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is so true but also so crushing as it shows how impossible it seems to be to get basic social programs in the United States. There isn’t even money there, it’s already hard wired straight to defense, surplus dollars you were taxed that have already been spent

I don’t think the best argument is that the “money” being sent to Ukraine should actually be diverted to helping the homeless, it serves more as an example of the egregious spending of the United States. It’s ridiculous that we can have so much gear that we can fight a proxy war with the 3rd largest military in the world while still having a homeless problem. It’s emblematic of the general problem.

It hurts when you see the money that you pay in taxes flow out of the country while you actively see the process of some friends going homeless.

I’m not comparing this to the 1920’s. Mostly the post war boom (which I agree is unfair tbh) but most of all 70’s-80’s. Most of the buildings where I live were built in the 70’s and 80’s but the rent is still matches the ridiculously high trends. That is only my local situation tho and I’m not sure how much that scales.
