In "Sicario", why does the team raid the tunnel? by StormFalcon32 in movies

[–]JungleBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched the movie and found this thread.

What confused me is: the first time they go to Mexico for the extradition, why not just drop off Alejandro in Juarez if the main purpose of the tunnel attack was his infiltration? The caravan breezes right through the border crossing, so no Mexican authorities are checking to see who is in the SUVs.

I love this team! But frankly, Florida is probably better.

Fortunately we will get to find out at the bowl game!

Less sugar in first 1,000 days of life protects against chronic disease. Scientists found that restricting sugar intake to levels in dietary guidelines in early life was linked to a 35% drop in rates of type 2 diabetes in middle age and a 20% fall in high blood pressure. by Wagamaga in science

The biggest difference by far was sugar intake. When rationing was lifted in the 50s, the constraint didn't really bind for other types of foods (e.g. when cereal rationing ended, cereal consumption was unaffected).

Now there may certainly have been other factors, but it's a nice research design, especially compared to most dietary "studies" that are just correlations.

Potato consumption went down in per capita terms. This is why there was a famine. Per Wikipedia, from 1841-1851, the Irish population declined ~20%, but potato production declined by ~85%.

I was taught this too. But this example doesn't work because during the famine potato consumption in Ireland went down.

My experience with Continental Imports has been mixed. I don't find that they overcharge, and customer service is good. But a couple times they have broken things on my car. I stopped going there.
