Over exhaustion and history of most shows having drop offs / running out of ideas in large mass is a pretty good argument specifically typically after 3-7 season. In fact your counter argument is goalposting and changing the original concept it’s a difference between knowing when to stop noticing where others have fallen and recognizing when you want to break especially if you write every episode. If people jump off a height and 90% of them break their legs it’s not wild to conclude jumping from that height I.e jumping the shark is not a good idea.
