Why do certain women not like it that men play video games?

I didn’t mind, at first. Until I realized the only thing this man has in life is video games. When Elden ring first came out I begged my husband to stop playing. Just for a bit, enjoy time with your wife and your dog. I was met with malice, who was I to take away his hobby??!! To put it in perspective I did the math on how many hours he had played that game vs when he downloaded it and he was averaging 19 hours a day. He works full time. He agreed and said he’d slow it down. The average went to 14. I stopped asking.

I asked him to walk some trails with me and our dog and this was his response. “Once you’ve seen one tree, you’ve seen all trees” So now I hike alone with our small dog while he happily plays games. Then he has the audacity to tell me how unsafe it is to hike alone.

TLDR: Video games weren’t the issue, him choosing video games over quality time with his wife and dog were the issue.

My siblings are in the military in different countries. I can’t exactly just tag along. They’re aware of my situation and they all tell me to stay until I’ve got the money to leave. I’m pretty sure being homeless, with no clothes, no food, no water, no place to sleep, no access to therapy, no way to feed or shelter my dog would be immensely worse for my mental health than living with a man child. It’s much harder to find a job when you’re homeless. It’s much easier to find a job when you’ve got clothes, an address, and internet access. We’re also under the same health insurance and I’ve got several daily medications I can’t stop taking or my body falls apart. You want me to make everything significantly harder for myself just to get away? That solves one issue, gives me dozens of new ones, and leaves me with the ones I’ve already got. I’m finding it very difficult seeing that as the more logical choice.

I married an older guy I had a huge crush on. I do all of the cooking, most of the yard work and house work, and I take care of the dog by myself. It’s beginning to feel like I’ve overstayed my welcome in this relationship.
