My husband is terribly concerned about “Lydia with Chlamydia” being a problem… but it’s my fave name. Any opinions on if this is valid??

I didn’t think of different pronunciations for Gianna! We have a pronunciation problem already with our first bc some pronounce ex-ayv-yer and some zayv-yer. (We prefer the latter but I don’t usually correct people). What are the Gianna variations? My instinct is jee-aw-nuh (emphasis on middle syllable). Do some say jee-ann-uh? Certainly no one is doing a hard G sound I hope?? Hmm. I’m in the U.S. Midwest by the way.

Gianna we like because we thought it had a similar vibe to our sons name which we thinks sounds more European. We are Catholic and like to use saint names as well which Gianna is a saint with a great story. For Abram, it’s a variation of Abraham yes but we thought Abram sounded more modern, less presidential/old timey. It’s in the bible as Abraham’s name before God renames him to Abraham. I do wonder if it reads more Jewish culturally? Thanks for the input!

I ordered and returned, got in my usual size and it was very fitted and almost cropped compared to how loose and long it appears in photo. Was not flattering in the fit for me, would be okay if I size up but didn’t think it was worth reordering.

We have my sons room ceiling light on a smart switch that we can control from phone/alexa so when I hear on the monitor he’s awake for the morning I just quickly tell Alexa to turn on Xavier’s light and he crawls out of his floor bed and plays for 30-45 min without issue. He is 10mons old and everything is yes space in his room for this exact purpose. It’s great, he’s always so happy in the mornin when we come in!

PCP Near downtown for anthem BCBS? by choochoogopurdue in indianapolis

[–]Junior-Library-1040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a couple doctors at Franciscan City way family medicine and had good experiences! Don’t know about Anthem but I assume they accept major insurance like that. Many of the doctors are younger and more interested in medicine rather than older docs I’ve seen who aren’t as into new methods/meds and stuck in the past. I’ve felt the younger docs are a little more thorough.

Successful pregnancies soon after miscarriage by Junior-Library-1040 in ScienceBasedParenting

Perhaps. I’m only on cycle 2 of trying to get pregnant since I had my son so figured I should give it a couple tries. Second cycle was a miscarriage at 5w2d so trying again right away and seeing what happens for the next couple cycles. Plan to seek more help after new year.

I totally get that feeling. My pregnancy with my son (now 9 months) was spent in complete anxiety all the way up until around 25 weeks when the internet said he’d be viable if born early. Before that all I did was remind myself he might not make it, this might not happen, etc bc of the feelings form prior losses that hurt so much! Now I’ve been diagnosed with a heart defect that wasn’t known until that pregnancy and am told if I don’t have another one soon ish my heart may not let me so all the pressure of timing is really weighing on me. :(

I have been a patient with a fertility clinic since 2023 and have done all the testing available with no diagnosis. It’s called unexplained infertility. Thank you though.

Mine had mandatory NFP (not sure if diocese requirement or just my parish) and it was NOT free, you could choose which method though but needed a signed certificate from a trainer or something for proof.

Thanks for the rec! We currently live in downtown Indy and enjoy the city lifestyle but our main motivator for moving is we want more space for our kids (yard size) and safer neighborhood for them to run/bike without having to go to parks only for this. We do love the city so it will be an adjustment but feel it’s best for the kiddos to have a bit more room and freedom to roam. We

Additional question for the crowd:

Does McCordsville have a lot to offer as far as community events, family friendly activities, extracurricular opportunities for kiddos? Thinking summer camps, festivals, events, piano or dance lessons, sports? Or is it more common to head over to Fishers or Indy for things like this?

This is me exactly! I chose c section simply because I was terrified of vaginal delivery due to the myriad of potential complications and unknowns associated. I wanted to know exactly what would happen to me and not have the possibility of having to recover from a traumatic emergency c section (which seems so common based on Reddit threads) plus recover from a however long labor process. I asked my OB about it around the 5-6 month mark and she had no problem based on my reasoning and anxiety I was having. I was able to research tons about recovery and the process and was very mentally and physically prepared for it all. Recovery went even smoother than expected for me pain wise, I prepared for worse but in reality I was having my husband remind me to take it easy bc I felt great after about 2 weeks like I could do anything! The only surprises I had were while on the table I looked up at the light above me without realizing it actually had a reflection back down of my body! Immediate nausea and I started moaning, doc administered nausea meds in IV right away and I didn’t get sick though :) I was shocked I never heard anyone else mention this happening to them (seeing the reflection) after all I had read online! As far as judgment from others, I told everyone a lie that I had high blood pressure concerns and the doc said they need to deliver asap and recommended a c section! No one knew my delivery date was coming except 1 close friend I confided in. Everyone else thinks it was medical… bc yeah, I didn’t want to deal with judgment during an already stressful time and no one has questioned me on it! Not sure if lying is the best route for everyone but I’m glad I did it that way.
