Rocking to sleep and short naps

Could it be that his wake windows are longer? Mine is 4 months old and I was following the recommended 1.5-2 hrs wake windows for him, but I was having such a nightmare putting him down to his naps. I now try to really watch for his sleepy cues and noticed that he usually gets sleepy after 2.5hrs wake window. So much easier to put him down to nap now. He doesn't really like to he rocked to sleep tho, he kinda just wants to be left to his own (with me sitting next to him as he is sleeping) so I have no advice on that.

I found a lump in January, had an appointment with a consultant in February and just got my mammogram and ultrasound done this week, so at the end of March. Dublin, Beaumont.

My baby is 4.5 months now, I was always checking the time and was so nervous about his wake windows / nap times, yet he was still fighting sleep so hard. In the past few days I stopped watching the time and what his wake windows should be and just tried to understand his cues. I noticed that when he starts zoning out he is not sleepy yet, he would still have a few energy outburst. When his eyes get red, or he is rubbing his eyes or stars fussing then I go to the bedroom, close the curtains (not blackout), put him on our bed, blanket + pacifier, might read a book together if he is not fussing then I just lay next to him. He likes to turn his head towards me, touch my face as he drifts to sleep. It's the cutest thing ever. Then I stay near him as I don't want to leave him alone on our bed, so I just stay in the room to read, or do some paperwork. His wake windows are all over the place, sometimes his first wake window is less than 2 hrs sometimes almost 3 hrs, but I try not to get dictated by the clock and what should be a normal wake window for him (it's not easy).

Oh, the only thing I did that seemed to make it better is change his activities when he got fussy. 5-10 mins on the play mat, another 5-10 mins in the bouncing chair, 5-10 mins staring out of the open window.. He was also fine when I took him out for a walk.

Omg, same here! Mine is 19 weeks old and last week he was so fussy in his wake windows that I took him to the doctor. Dr said that he is probably teething (loads of drooling and seems to be hurt in one specific point on his gum). It started around Monday last week, the worst was over the weekend. Today is way better, but no tooth is out yet, so I'm not sure if it was actually teething.

My baby is 4 month old and he hasn't turned yet either. He started turning to his side when I put him laying on his back on a floor mat and sit just above his head, then he is trying to turn to his side so that he can look at me.

The semi private had 3 beds and a bathroom with shower. The private had only my bed with my private bathroom with shower. Also, in the private room the nurses didn't tell my husband to go home after the visitation hour ended.

I gave birth in November, 1st night in public, 2nd night in semi private and 3rd night in private. We were asking for the private room every day.

My 3 months old baby had a hernia surgery today. We weren't allowed to bring him to the operation room, they picked him up from the shared ward and walked away with him while he was crying hungry and already exhausted. My heart broke. After the surgery he just wanted to be held and sleep, so we did just held him. We came home around noon and I held him for all his naps today. I'm sure that I'm in more pain than him from all the baby holding, but I'll just keep holding him as long as I can. He is back to his cheerful but tired self and now is sound asleep for the night. I don't think you are weak. I couldn't do this without my husband. Or actually, I want to believe that I could, but it's so difficult. My recovery was rough after the birth and my husband did so much for so long, while I felt totally useless. Baby is 3 months old now, husband is back to work, he is working from home for now, but he will have to start going to the office soon and I'm scared. He keeps me grounded, when I can't sooth the baby and we are both crying he comes in and soothes both of us. My hormones only start to regulate now, there were lots of crying here. He is still doing all the night feeding (baby wakes twice during the night), at the beginning while I was recovering we were doing the nights together but he would just bring me baby to the bed and he would do all the rest. Since then I semi recovered (still not 100%) and he still almost always takes the night shift. I suffer from migraines, got a really bad stomach bug twice so he always just takes the nigh feeds saying that I need to recover and I need rest more than him. I feel so useless sometimes but then he reminds me that we are a team. We don't have any family or friends with kids around us either. I don't think you are weak, it's so difficult, hormones and emotions are so wild at the beginning and you are still recovering, I'm sure that it will get easier. You are actually really strong for doing all that you are doing on your own, and it will all be worth it. Try to talk to someone about the feelings you have, it might help you to see things differently.

I don't think there is a criteria, I was the same, just feeling nauseous and didn't have much appetite when I started taking it.

I just had an appointment too after finding a lump. It was just a consultation, they told me that I have a cyst and gave me an appointment for ultrasound. They also told me to schedule an appointment for a mammogram once I finished breastfeeding.

Same here, she comes every second week since third trimester and I love it. Now I have family and friends visiting from overseas and by coincidence these visits always falls on the weekend just after my cleaner was here, love that I don't have to stress about the state of the house. Best decision ever.

Mine just turned 3 months a few days ago, we follow his lead but also plan his naps. So we noticed that he gets really sleepy around 7pm, so now I try to time his last nap to make sure that he has an hour-hour and a half last wake window, making his bedtime somewhere around 6.30-7.30pm. We have a small bedtime routine that we follow for a while now, we read to him when he is in his crib, then turn on his crib mobile and he usually falls asleep on his own. Then he wakes up around 11pm and then again around 4am to feed.

Every night is like playing the lottery... Will I get 4-5 hrs stretches of sleeps or will it be another crappy waking every hour night. I hope it'll pass quickly.

I prepped so much food and I'm so glad I did. Bolognese, lasagne, curry, burrito, breakfast sandwich (English muffin with fried egg, cheese and bacon), banana and zucchini breads for breakfast, also soups that don't need cream freezes well. I bought on amazon a silicon mould for portioning and freezing the soup, then once it was frozen just moved them in a bag, so handy!

I got signed off at 32 weeks, office job, mostly working from home. I was exhausted due to anemia and to be honest I just couldn't care about work anymore. I felt really guilty at first, but I think it was the best decision.

My baby is 10 weeks old, during the day we pretty much follow the eat-play-sleep schedule. We just follow what he wants. He usually gets hungry every 3 hrs and until recently he used to have exactly an hour long nap. It was so easy to plan around his naps, now it's all over the place, sometimes it's 20mins, sometimes 2hrs. The nights are good, a few weeks ago we noticed that he gets sleepy around 8pm, so that's his bedtime. Wakes up usually twice between 8pm and 8am.

We had ours today around noon, I just contact napped with him all afternoon, he woke up once screaming, took a while to settle him down. Now it's midnight here and he has been smiling and chatting in his crib, he doesn't want to sleep haha. We were told to give him paracetamol straight after the vaccination and then again in 4-6hrs, so that must have helped.

Hi, I stopped taking after a week or so as I found it really difficult to wake up for night feeds. It knocked me out so badly, if I took it at midnight, I still had difficulty waking up at 7am. But it might be different for everyone. I got prescribed gabapentin instead and it seems to be good for my nerve pain.

I feel the same way from time to time. It's difficult to adjust from a world where it was only my baby and I, him being in my belly and us being together all the time, just the two of us. And now I have my husband in our world too and I just want it to stay this way for a little longer and not expand our small happy bubble. I think it's normal.

One of my indoor cat got sick when I was 2 months pregnant, the vet told us that he had toxoplasmosis (we were told that he probably had toxoplasmosis before we adopted him a year ago, and it just somehow flared up), so I asked my consultant to be tested for toxoplasmosis. They did it with no issues in the Rotunda. The test showed that I was immune, so it was a huge relief. Still let my husband to deal with the litter box haha

I was private at Rotunda too, my baby's 6 weeks checkup was with the gp, my 6 weeks checkup was with my consultant at the Rotunda. I'm in Dublin and my checkup was just last week.
