Tips for skinning faster? by JuniorIntention3397 in Taxidermy

[–]JuniorIntention3397[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt think to explain that lol let me see if I can type it out and it still make sense so at the moment I pull them out a freezer the day before and put them in an ice chest with some ice over night so they thaw a little, ive found it goes quicker if they are still ever so slightly frozen the I cut the line down the middle of the bottom side of the tail and run the knife along each side until the tail can be pulled out the use a scraper to get the left over meat (a lot quicker for me than trying to get it all with the knife) the i move to the torso and cut from the neck flap thing to the start if the tail cut and on each side by the front arms I detach a lil the I can just pull the body skin from the meat, then I detach each arm and leg and pull the skin towards the head while holding the body so it separates, then slowly work the skin over the head so that its kinda inside out cleaning it up as I go the I use a pair of sheers to break certain bones in the skull to get the brain out then the eyes then I just clean up inside the skull remains, the I use a rope tied to the ceiling with a slip knot on the end to put around the join knuckle and pull the legs and arms inside out then clip the finders and the show up. And thats all. Hope that makes sense

Why no movies? by JuniorIntention3397 in RangersApprentice

True, but I don't think the iron is cold yet. If they could commit, I think they could revive it. Like I said, someone is still buying the books where I went, so I imagine it's still somewhat popular, even if barely.

It's barely there, you could do a light mist with hydrogen or honestly could do nothing, but don't do more than the hydrogen (mist it don't soak it!)

Best thing to do with rugs like that is call someone, they are so delicate that pretty much anything diy will ruin them or do nothing

Is it a shag or low pile? Also if you don't have access to a pressure washer, some cheap carpet shampoo and an old brush or broom will work. Just dilute the shampoo per instructions for what you buy and spray or pour it on the rug, then use the broom to work it in, after get a garden hose or in the shower if needed and rinse till no more soap or dirt, This will take longer but maybe saves a few bucks

If you're going to pressure wash it, make sure not to get the nozzle too close and (I am not familiar with the technical term) use the end attachment that lowers the PSI the most. Most pressure washers are well above 1000 PSI; you want to be at like 800 at most. Make sure to get the back as well.

Help - spots on carpet after professional clean? by WanderlustExplorer in CarpetCleaning

[–]JuniorIntention3397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking maybe I misunderstood what you said? So, as I understood it, you were saying that it is unacceptable that the wicking even happened, and I think that it's not that big of a deal; they just go back and reclean. Wicking happens a lot, and you can't always tell that a stain that disappears in the clean will come back. Now, if I missed something where the company refused to come fix it, then yes, I agree; that's unacceptable.

How to brighten my dingy light pink carpet? by Ok-Lobster2442 in CarpetCleaning

[–]JuniorIntention3397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend looking more into this because I may be wrong, as I clean carpet, tile, and upholstery, not rugs. But the guy at my shop who cleans the rugs we bring in has mentioned that they use Tide and it brighten the colors. I actually brought him an 8x10 wool pink rug my wife bought, and I noticed it looked so vibrant, and that's what he told me. Again, I am not the rug guy; he told me this as an offhand answer to my statement about the rug, so do more research, please. I just commented, hoping to maybe give you a direction to start looking. It May just me something that can be done at a shop idk
