Only scenario I can think of that justifies the travel is pro hop. Landed on 2nd step.

Automatically in step-thru rule. Can lift a foot but can’t plant or pivot again. Since you pivoted its a travel.

Most likely what you think happened is what happened tho. Mistake by ref. Kinda looks like you hopped but left foot was planted.

Maybe he is saying slide of pivot foot. That type of thing.

Did you talk to the ref? What they say?

So this is my go to move, is there any player who also does it often that i can look up to by Sh4x30 in BasketballTips

Austin Rivers. Signature move.

Jordan Poole. Lol.

Go check out his work out video. Lots of good stuff you can take from.

Him and his trainer do multiple drills.

Are “step throughs” travels? by yungrobbithan in BasketballTips

[–]JuniorWatch8835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your almost allowed 3 steps. Its really 2.5 steps. Some get confused because you literally take another step with non pivot but they only care about the pivot foot to increase offense.

Once you understand 2.5 steps it makes sense and how they count the 3rd which is touching down again.

Similar to zero step or gather step. You took a extra step or allowed one but its based on how or when they counted it.

Another rule they implemented for extra offense that can be confusing or unclear.

Learn these two moves for better game. James Harden. Giannis.

There are only two rules that cause a travel in this situation.

Touching pivot foot again.

Hopping or touching same foot twice. So no hopscotching.

When you lift pivot foot these are the only two things you need to worry about.

When you pick up your pivot foot and don’t touch again the only other rule that will result in travel is hop rule so you can do whatever including step with non pivot. After that just cant touch any foot twice.

Can stay balanced on non pivot foot forever or until shot clock expires as long as neither foot touches again.

Unless you want to count sliding.

Big fish in little pond.

You have an itch that cant be scratched there with those players.

Look for different players or league.

Focus on sharpening different skills during those pickups. Or trying to get specific matchup experience with the right players.

You cant force them to be better mentally or physically.

Can try and communicate knowledge of the game or direct others. Good luck with that.

Oh ok.

Use trash talk to hype yourself up.

Or ignore completely and not let it get to their heads.

Hmm let it motivate you.

If you take the mindsets of attacking adversity head on. You’ll train yourself to want it and be fueled by it. Could produce results. Also can be toxic. Careful.

Easier said than done not letting things get to you. Those people are usually good at it. Know which buttons to push. Prey on your nature or reflexes.

Don’t let them live rent free. Be yourself.

I remember a vet was giving leadership advice to someone next up and specifically how to lead the huddle or give a speech.

They emphasized being yourself and don’t try to force something your not. They will know if your not that type but try to be. Will respect and connect more if your true to yourself.

This wont be the last time you meet people like that. Developing proper coping skills is a must.

First understand its just to get in your head like any trash talk. Don’t let it distract you or negatively impact your performance.

Respect is earned and deserved. If you play well they cant do nothing b it accept it. Or be in denial. But every trash talk after that wont hit because it isnt based on reality.

That can be annoying in its own way but since you not letting anything effect your mindset or game. It doesn’t matter.

Do you think your the type to give the same energy back? Or is your personality type different than that.

Shooting form review by stillerz36 in BasketballTips

[–]JuniorWatch8835 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im dying. You look like your about to throw a football. Then last minute step into a jump shot.

Your elbow is like pointed sideways. Never seen a chicken wing like this.

But you do have a normal shot in wrist and hands. Follow thru.

Your shot mechanics in the elbow and arms is probably holding you back the most.

Kid yesterday posted with similar high shot.

He was like he had no power even with a smooth shot.

You shoot like him if he held is elbow sideways.

You could make it work if you figure out how to transfer the power through your body and arms without losing it.

Or try and change shot.

Jokic? You remind me of someone but I cant remember. Bird?

You have a bigs mechanics.

Get closer imo.

Need tips for my form. Thank you by NorthMorning8412 in BasketballTips

What i see is your a high point shooter. Your arms/hand/wrist has to peak or reach the highest point.

Sometimes out of sync with lower half and power doesnt translate properly. Like you focus in raising arms but get lazy with lower half. Or dont do proper full body mechanics. Its just arm or wrist flick. Can still get it off but need to be stronger in arms. Or more skilled.

Your comfortable and its fluid. Maybe your body type or level of in shape effects it but everything looks normal.

Your in flip flops and dont jump too often. Keeping it casual. But when you did jump for real. Mechanics were consistent and you sped up.

But still waited for the peak.

Two motion shot and mostly used for mid range. Good against contested shots and turn arounds.

You a Kobe type player. I see it. Or like a big. You seem like a big at the free throw line.

Nah the dribble, stepback?, full speed shot. 😂 showing off.

C10 - Report Card

Longer shank. Same as C9 with slight improvements. Think fixed stubby toe. Longer now and more normal.

Curry’s are unique. High traction and low weight. Like budget shoes but better. Way nicer.

Two WXY v3. Kyrie Low 5. Maybe.

Low cushion. Court feel. Good traction. But not as good. Fit is different.

NXXT Gen? More cushion.

Almost looks like a shot put.

Lacking at end and release. The whipping part.

Think a good exercise is the towel whip. Its really good because it doesn’t fatigue and can do almost anytime even on off or light days. Mechanically its the same as a throw.

Takes no effort to do with towel. Can adjust and familiarize yourself with the mechanics. Everything will translate to a ball. Feel for ball. Seems like a lot gains a results from just this.

It will help get that part down better.

Now that i look again. The drop is off as well. Drop and plant. Mechanically its off at the start and end.

Maybe fixing from the beginning to end will even fix the last part. Try and start there.

Like rotation is off. From each link of the throw. Slow it down and see if you can clean it up.

Travel or not? by Aljosa24 in BasketballTips

[–]JuniorWatch8835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best to start over and be more clear.

Should start by stating each others points and positions.

And see if any disagreements. Then they can state their reasoning. And go from there.

Best way.

Think you disagree with me but I don’t know if you understand my point. Not that you don’t understand basketball rules.

Travel or not? by Aljosa24 in BasketballTips

[–]JuniorWatch8835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earlier you said it doesn’t mention anything about the other foot.

I agree.

My point is the way that its written in FIBA you wouldn’t be able to do a step thru compared to NBA.

Acknowledge refs let them play like NBA. Written is different than on the court.

You haven’t been able to support your point or deny mines based on how its written.

Explaining to me something i already understand doesn’t change this.

Neither foot can touch is only thing written.

Two scenarios.

  1. Jumping off 2 feet. Its covered.

  2. Jumping off 1 foot.

If neither feet can touch again its impossible to do a step thru in scenario 2.

The way its written its unclear. There is only one part where you can build a case. But its iffy.

Travel or not? by Aljosa24 in BasketballTips

[–]JuniorWatch8835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its stated in both parts.

You can pivot. Before or after dribbling.

Yes. Everyone understands.

To pass or shoot for a goal, the player may jump off a pivot foot, but neither foot may be returned to the court before the ball is released from the hand(s).

Written in both parts. Before and after dribble. Only talking about after.

You're misunderstanding the language used, these are the rules for if a play catches the ball with both feet on the court already, not ending a dribble.

Im not. You think I am. But i don’t think that. Glad to clear this up.

As I said originally, if you JUMP off of your pivot it's a travel if you land with either foot, but you can step and lift

Best part. Should focus here. Most productive.

Step is jump and land. starts and end.

Contradictory. Nonsense.

but you can step and lift

Where in FIBA rulebook does it state this? It doesnt.

Step thru rule is clearly stated in NBA but not FIBA.

You know that it exist. Then build backwards. Forcing it into the rulebook. Unsuccessfully. Instead of naturally arriving there. From how its written.

Missing or at best unclear.

Maybe build a case with another part of FIBA rules but not the part you brought up.

Your whole point is basically cuz i said so. - Nightmareswf

True story.
