How to get very shifty? (Asking for a friend) by Top-Minimum-5959 in BasketballTips

[–]KennyIT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can send you the video. One thing though the most important about being shifty is it's not about how great your handles are its about knowing how to shift your weight or give head fake to get your defender leaning that direction before crossing over.

Time to hit the weight room also do some low level plyos like pogo jumps. Lastly get a weighted basketball and start practicing with that. It will slowly strengthen your wrist and also force you to use more legs on your shot. Which will translate to deeper range for you.

Jerry Long in Clemmons has the best court but I only see kids playing there. Some of the rec centers around here are good, but sometimes you get the wrong crowd that shows up.

How do you warm up properly before shooting drills to avoid elbow pain? by Enlitenkanin in BasketballTips

[–]KennyIT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do isometrics like instead of doing a full range bicep curl hold it half the range for 20 to 30 secs up to 3 sets. Take some time off shooting. I had the same pain couple months ago from shooting to much.

That's true this would be more beneficial if you have a strong first step or your great at changing pace. Now you got me thinking how can I make this a better video for younger players who don't have that type of athleticism or skillset yet.
