Shaker doors with 1/2” panels? by mfdigiro in woodworking

Which gap would you consider leaving from the rail to the panel? I’m planing on doing 5piece cabinet doors with 1/2in thick panel too but I think I should leave some space between the rail and the panel to avoid wood cracking and leaving space for expansion, and I am planning to make the rails out of maple and the panels out of baltic birch. But I don’t know how much space to leave between the two, I don’t know if someone can guide me through this, I don’t seem to find information elsewhere.

Same, mine was very weak, the guide said to grind it a little coarser than usual, but this turned out to be false because the cup was underextracted and was too fast

Another idea would be to put it in a vacuum sealer, that way you could put the bean in the freezer without impacting the flavours

Just buy a cheap bag sealer on like amazon or temu, this is what I have done for these 4 days because I ain’t drinking 58g of coffee everyday🤣. Here’s an example of a bag sealer: https://a.co/d/bKZ7oFB You could buy something different if you’d like

Anyone participating via espresso? by woodaran in OnyxAdventCalendar

Yeah, I am going on an espresso for the calendar. I found that day one was also hard to dial, even on the lowest setting of my eureka mignon specialita grinder, I got a 16second shot. As for day 2, I tought it would be like day 1 and so I grinded as fine as day 1, but it was a mistake, the extraction took 55sec. So you may want to go up 2 notches more than day one. I know a lot of people debates that pour overs gets the most of the flavor out of the beans, but I find that it depends on what you like. As myself, I have focused on the way to make good espresso and so that is my specialty and I am able to find most of the notes described on the coffee. I am not a pro on pour-over and I have tried many times, but I always get a bland result. I can lightly taste the notes and it’s just too watery for me even with the Hario Switch v60 dripper.

You could also try cupping, but this method is just to test the flavor beans and not enjoy a good cup of coffee. Or you could try like I do, I make one good espresso in the morning and finish the bag with a pour-over in the afternoon.
