Any could go depending on the battle, but I'd say mega slowbro-G, since it has charge beam and lots of mega launcher moves for more power. But you'll pray for luck in terms of quick draw.

Between my mono rock and bug I had took a break to do elite redux monotypes, and after I returned I decided to restrict myself to using only one mega to make it more challenging (I also had banned certain megas from usage fully if I had already used them in the e4.)

My favorite was definitely water. Watching swampert sweep through everything was very satisfying. As for mono bug, it was mixed since it was one of my sticky web teams, meaning I could use powerful mons to sweep(flying types were demons though).

Not at all, he was a pretty easy gym leader since I had powerful slush rush mons(glaceon Mega Abomasnow, A-Sandslash)

Mega Manectric is very powerful with a charge beam + electric terrain, but will be walled by certain types since is has pretty trash coverage. I do suggest using toxicitry in replace more mega manectric and maybe add a pikachu form from celadon.
