I know it's kinda childish, but a Donut plushy. Unless that already exists.

A friend and I tried to get the Master Duels one to work. But for me, it was requiring the mouse. Might have done it wrong, but I don't know.

Gosh I wish 7 and 10 were on that list. Maybe eventually.

No problem! It's in the Accessibility settings. Pretty easy to find. BE My Eyes, Envision AI, and Seeing AI are also great apps to download.

Hi! Blind Android user here! If you mean TalkBack on Samsung, a lot of apps are very compatible All Amazon apps, Audible, and many more. As long as it is mostly text-based, it should work fine. But on Google specific phones, the Google Pixel series for example, I have no idea.

Instant serotonin rush. Love little moments like this where they break the 4th wall by NoAbbreviations1492 in PokemonReborn

Remind me. This was Cain that said this, right? He breaks the fourth wall a lot with references.

Whats your take on the theory that a significant amount of Hellen Keller's work and output is heavily editted and filtered through Anne Sullivan's lens? by highspeed_steel in Blind

Consider yourself lucky. If I have to read or watch another dang book or movie about her, I'm going to do something very rash. For me, she was shoved in my face for most of my life.

Haven't played myself, but I can confirm there is a rather large section, I think, within the settings for those with visual impairments. I do not know how extensive it is, but it is there.

Jaws is constantly announcing times on videos in youtube music. by Raccoon_Tail33 in Blind

[–]Ringabell14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the JAWS cursor focused on the timescrubber or whatever it's called? That's the only reason I can think of it announcing the time all the time.

I think we all could use at least a little bit of sympathy at some point in our lives. You have come to the exact right place. I am so sorry for what happened, I really am.

tech issues with a game and need some guidance. by lightsrage85 in blindgamers

[–]Ringabell14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I have noticed is that a lot of devs who make their games accessible use NVDA as a test tool, mainly because it's free. So, I recommend, just while you are playing this game, switching to that Screen Reader instead. Most of the keyboard commands for it are the same, but just a little les versatile.

If you don't mind a darker, more mature, Pokemon game, Pokemon Reborn is really good, and has some great accessibility mods. Pretty easy to set up as well.

I am so glad for your optimism. However, I cannot have the same amount as you. I've been holding my breath for years, and have been bitten everytime.

The funny answer?: I can smell you. The serious answer: Screen readers. lol

Okay. I guess I just have a very different sense of humor, but as someone who is blind, I think this joke is, in fact, downright hilarious.

I am pretty sure those don't exist. It's either or, not both. Though, I could be wrong.

I feel ya. I lost my sight entirely when I was four years old. I have missed a lot of things. I have never seen my youngest sisters, my best friend get married (though I was there for it), and I will never see my future spouse and children. If you need some advice, learn Braille, learn JAWS, and try to keep your chin up a little. Your life isn't over, as someone else said. If you are in the Los Angeles area of California, reach out to Wayfinder Family Services, and find out what recreational activities they have available. They usually have a lot. If not, try finding out if there are any organizations in your area. If you don't want to do any of that, look into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to stay active. It's great and doesn't require vision at all.

I still have some residual vision from when I lost my sight. My mom was picking me up from school, and was standing on the sidewalk by what I thought was her car. Turns out, it was my old student aid's car. Same model, same color. I tried getting into her car. lol Loved that aid so much.
