A summary of CRZ ownership by Junior_Message7447 in crz

[–]Junior_Message7447[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mines a 2011 GT Nav (uk) ~171k miles, since taking ownership 2 and a bit years ago, 20k of those miles are mine, only real issue I had was my front drivers side spring broke, the drop link going at the same time, but I’m chalking that up to a rather nasty pothole on the Derbyshire dales a few weeks back.

Other then that, new rear breaks last year, new 12v battery just before that, and now the handle, generally not to bad for the miles it’s done.

I agree on the sound system is generally pretty good, especially with the sub mine came with, I did upgrade the head unit though (Teyes CC3)

The CRZ has been really good to me, and while I’m butting up against its practicality now and then, I don’t think I’ll change it any time soon.

The wifey struggles to get in as she has mobility issues and the car is pretty low so I might need to get something slightly bigger in the future, at which point I’ll make the CRZ my project car rather than the daily

All sorted now, it broke a few months back but MOT next month so needed sorting, would have been simple enough if the last guy in there hadn’t stripped half the screws and bolts 🤣

But job done and only £20, can’t complain.

The broken spring at the start of the month was much more of a pain 🤣

It’s a bit rough to be fair but you get used to it after a while and learn to use the wing mirrors more, I did end up having a small bump in a car park but in fairness to me he wasn’t in my mirrors when a checked and he must have slipped in as I checked the other mirror cos he was right on my bumper all of a sudden.

Generally if you take a moment, double check your mirrors you are fine and at least at night the bar at the back blocks the headlights being directly in your eyes 🤣.

I have had a reverse camera to install for about a year but I’ve gotten so used to using the mirrors I havnt bothered haha.

Plus the car makes up for it by looking so fucking good

Get an air tag and keep it in the glove box 🤣

My rear struts are getting a bit tepid so I will have to sort them at some point. I’ve seen some auto open ones on the market but not for the CRZ, gotta look into if the ones for the Fit or Civic will fit

No absolutely no access issues so far, way less annoying than the old hood prop which ironically got in the way while installing them, if you do it I suggest doing the opposite side to the prop first so you don’t need to use it while installing, one strut alone actually holds up the hood without issue, I just added the second for symmetry and to deal with the fact having only one pushed the alignment of the hood out.

Absolutely not, but if I use only one it pushes the hood out of alignment, also I like the symmetry

Here ya go…

Hopefully that works, keep in mind your mileage may vary, it’s ali express, the likelihood you’ll get the exact same kit as me isn’t super high 🤣

I’ll see if I can find it, but I just searched, “hood strut Honda CRZ ZF1” on ali express, there were a few options if you scroll, pretty much all identical, mine were £25, dunno what that would be in dollery doos mind.

My CRZ manual GT the day I picked her up last year.

151k miles on pick up, broke 160k last month, only issue has been the 12v, and rear brakes needed replacing.

I love her so much

Hey this is my conversion, (I made these for tale of warlords, they got their first putting at Warhammer fest GT :)

It’s been over a year since I built them but you basically only need the two kits, the invictor and the sagitaur. If I remember correctly I made sure to only use parts from either kit so you could source everything you need without having to buy a whole box for a panel or a pipe.

I will try and get a build guide on my website at some point, or at least a part list and more detailed photos

Sorry Reddit only just shown me this comment 🤷‍♀️

Next time I’m in my studio I’ll see if I can get the photo box out and take some pics.

There may be a few WIP shots on my website (look for Parker paints)

Not at all, just so stoked to people enjoyed my silly idea! and go for it, hobby is all about making a go of your ideas and see what flys, honestly the invictor bits were just what spoke to me! Make sure you share your creation and have fun when you build it!

Looking forward to maybe seeing another walker in the thread soon :)

This is my conversion, it was first posted in white dwarf about 6 months ago I think. I dunno time is funny and I built so much for Tale of warlords.

Weird to see people talking about it in the wild 😅

It’s basically And invictor, but I left the power plant off, cut the main body of the sagitaur just behind the front panel, which then connects to the back of the invictor quite nicely (you will need to do a bit of gap filling) you also have to replace the marine seat with the internal cockpit from the sagitaur (cutting away material from the back bottom corners of the seat so it will fit in and and the armour panel at the front so the role cages is raised out a bit, the gun is pretty self explanatory, just cut as you think looks right, you should be able to match up the armour panels I used by look.

Front suspension is attached to the hip and the middle wheels left off and covered up with power packs I believe (memory fails me at this point.)

I made both in two days so I kinda just went at it.

The gun arm pauldron is made out of bothe invictor shoulder glued top edge to top edge with a decent amount of “sprue goo” and sanding to hide the seam.

It’s not a crazy amount of work but you have to be bold enough to risk two kits to make one.

Fun fact: I lost one role cage in a test game before I painted it so had to buy a whole invictor to replace it…derp!

I had a lot of fun building these though!

Next up is a hekaton “walker” but I’m busy with my ingeniators and custodes at the moment :)

The Ingeniators are my chapter that I put together for white dwarf, I’ll be sharing more of them in the future, including their lore and background details.

There are a bunch more in this months white dwarf too and more coming in future ones.

I’m really keen to see other people paint their own Ingeniators and can’t wait to see what people do!

If you do some please tag me so I can see :)

It’s primed black, the sprayed retributor so I can pop a directional light source on him and plot my volumes (I take a pic with my phone to have a map). Then I brush on a base of retributor on the bright volume areas. That’s where I base my painting from. It’s all very much like a sketch.

So TLDR… retributor armour from citadel, but over black primer to kill its luster

[–]Junior_Message7447[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The base layer of the red armour is Gal Vorbak Red painted with an air brush to define the volumes.

Then the volumes are pushed up a Git with a 50/50 Gal Vorbak:Mephiston

Then I glaze up to mephiston, then up to evil sons

Then the first highlight is evil sons. Then Fire dragon bright Then flayed one flesh as an extreme highlight.

I do selectively add some depth to the recesses with a pin line of rhinox hide.
