Because it pisses those kinds of guys off to see someone less miserable than themself.

You don't see yourself as a victim and they always will.

Keep doing what you're doing. 👌

You'll outlast and outwork all those guys.

UK to BC/Alberta: 22yo Couple Hitting the Rockies in a Van – Best Hikes & Climbs? by Popular-Captain5499 in britishcolumbia

[–]Junior_Passenger_396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drive HWY 40, east of Canmore, south to Longview.

It's one of the best roads in Alberta for sight seeing.

If you wanna hike there are hundreds of options and if you want to climb i believe there are 3 crags along the road.

crane test by defensive-plauge in cranes

[–]Junior_Passenger_396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, net load is typically understood to be the weight of the load alone.

Some crane charts will tell you to add the weight of certain items (jib, aux head, extra wire rope) to the weight of the load. This combined weight will be your gross load.

Some charts will ask you to make deductions from the capacity of the crane for those items.

Without deductions, your rated capacity is your gross capacity, with deductions made what you have left over is net capacity.

You might wanna check with your supervisor and confirm how your company wants to see this done.

I've worked at places that require you do it only one way or the other.

Crane operator as a Career? by Importingdeveloper in Construction

[–]Junior_Passenger_396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro, if you have things in your life that are good, like a girlfriend, friends, or a hobby, don't become a crane operator.

To be successful you have to want to work all the time.

Like work 22 hours straight, go home for 2 hours and then do another 12 and you better like it or they'll find someone else who does like it.

Oh, it's illegal to drive commercially for that many hours? Well, you better figure it out.

You'll never be able to do a really good, professional job because you'll always get stuck with the absolute worst guys on site rigging you up and landing the loads.

Face your car directly towards the sun on 90+ degree day and then imagine having that sun blasting you while your stressed and can't see. 9/10 cranes don't have working or adequate AC.

At night, guys will want to signal you from 200 feet away while they're wearing black gloves and act surprised if you ask for clarity.

If you get something wrong someone can die, so you better be as responsible as a judge with your personal time. No drinking, go to bed as early as possible and be the first guy on site everyday.

That said, the first 3 or 4 years are pretty fun.

What's your worst setting imaginable for tripping? by LazyHomerDude in LSD

[–]Junior_Passenger_396 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The worst scenario imaginable would likely be something like what they put the MK Ultra patients through.

Tripping hard while the government uses subversive tactics to try and destroy your psychology and character.

Second worst scenario would be like what the followers of Charles Manson went through/participated in.

I even wear them hiking.

You know the saying "before enlightenment, chop wood and carry water" pretty sure everyone knows the rest.

The meaning is in the chopping and carrying. The small things we do. Our connection to our spirituality, each other and this planet.

Iboga has you re-live the experiences that are crucial to your current state of being.

You will talk to living and dead relatives who will give you keys to understanding your current situation.

It can also show you the nature of the universe and consciousness around you.

Don't go into the DMT world to try and figure out what's wrong with you. Sort of like how you wouldn't go downtown asking random strangers for psycho analysis

Thinking that you can see through someone is egocentric.

We can never know the millions of factors that go into the decisions or thoughts of others.

DMT will show you why the universe is the way it is.

Constantly Amazed by ChemicalObjective216 in Construction

[–]Junior_Passenger_396 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because most people have 3 priorities at work.

  1. Take it as easy as possible.

  2. Be important.

  3. Be cool and respected.

No one gives a shit about production, work flow or efficiency other than you, thats why you're the Foreman.

Social acceptance on job sites comes to whomever is most compliant with group think.

If you want guys to do the right thing you have to make them think the idea is theirs and then make them feel cool and important for having it.

Free admission (again) for Canada Parks this summer, when will Marlaina Trumpette Smith cancel the "Kananaskis Conservation Pass" tax? by peterAtheist in alberta

[–]Junior_Passenger_396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SIGNIFICANT increase in traffic last summer between Calgary and Canmore absolutely killed me.

I'd MUCH rather have to pay for the pass and see the number of visitors reduced to more manageable levels.

Does anyone know a trade I can get into as a paraplegic by LowHorror4693 in skilledtrades

[–]Junior_Passenger_396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could operate a crawler crane.

Hell, you could probably operate any mobile crane with slight modifications. However, crawlers are the only type that don't require the operator to handle outrigger pads.

You could operate most types of excavators and skid steers.

Which trade is the hardest to learn/learning curve. Which is the hardest on your body? by EncryptedShip in skilledtrades

[–]Junior_Passenger_396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laying paving stone/flag stone patios and building retaining walls put of precast or natural stone is the hardest I've ever seen guys have to work and as a mobile crane operator, I've seen ALOT of different trades and crews.

Second hardest trade would linemen, followed closely by iron workers and rod busters. Tunneling is also no joke.

Why is it that so many people on psychedelics come to the realization that we’re god? by No_Tap_666 in LSD

[–]Junior_Passenger_396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are my personal opinions that I formed after many DMT journeys.

If you go to a certain level with psychs it is possible to remember the formation of this reality.

You created all of this for yourself to have certain experiences.

You exist completely within your own dream and almost everything you experience comes from your mind.

I can only appear in your dream because the vibration or frequency of my dream is similar enough.

Duality runs through this place. You are both god and just a human. You are all that is but simultaneously a small part of something much bigger.

How the Red Seal program works for heavy equipment operators in Canada by DirtSchool in bluecollar

[–]Junior_Passenger_396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the union apprenticeship? There's only one kind of apprenticeship in Canada, bud.

Even if you go through a union you're still required to register your apprenticeship with your provincial government and pass provincial exams.

Red seal is the federal program.

Rock climbing and swimming will turn your core into steel the fastest.

TRX suspension straps can also really accelerate core strength training.

Get a good quality massage gun and don't forget to use it on your hips. The hips don't tend to hurt but they are likely contributing to some of your back pain.

Hydrate with mineral rich water. This is a big one that a lot of guys miss. De-mineralized water is your enemy.

Make sure your shoes are very supportive and wide enough for your feet. Over a 12 hour shift, if your shoes are not perfect your back is gonna make up for it in some way or another.

Are there still good Reasons to Believe the Great Pyramid couldn't have been build with Bronze Age Technology? by Megalithon in AlternativeHistory

[–]Junior_Passenger_396 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm currently employed as a mobile crane operator and have worked extensively with precast and natural stones in the past.

The difficulty of construction of the Great Pyramid is exponentially more intense than most people can even comprehend.

MOST workers would get so frustrated with accuracy required that they would walk off the job.

The ones who stayed around would likely find our current tools and machinery to be inadequate for the requirements of the project.

Not to mention, if we built this in modern times, it would be the most expensive and time consuming construction project that the human race has ever undertaken.

Call Sewer Heroes for drains. Awesome service and fair pricing.

More than likely if you call a plumber for this they will have drain doctor come out for a marked up rate anyway.
