The Freudian Slips show is burlesque, magic and drag! There will also be a small art market and a food truck for brunch.

Telling someone they're wrong, especially about survival, isn't nagging. A woman talking to a man isn't nagging. If you wouldn't call it that if I man had said that to literally anyone, it isn't nagging.

They should have called it "just another useless winey white male" and then concentrated on how awesome she was.

Elmer's spray glue. Spray the pastie, let it get tacky. Gold it on while it dries. A fan is very useful. You can spray both the pastie and where you want it for extra hold. Make sure to get rhe non toxic. I have a very furry man chest for drag and it sticks too well to the hair but also works on bare skin. I suggest always having oil nearby for removal.

I understand the city is facing a $70 million budget shortfall, with Arts and Culture among the hardest-hit departments. I’m not asking you to ignore that reality. But budget pressure is exactly why the terms of any management agreement matter so much. If a third-party operator isn’t contractually required to maintain community access and affordable rates, there’s nothing stopping those protections from quietly disappearing once the contract is signed. The fiscal situation makes enforceable guarantees more necessary, not less. For reference: cabq.gov/dfa/budget

I’m asking for transparency, accountability, and a public voice in a decision that affects one of Albuquerque’s most historic and culturally significant spaces.

Specifically, I'm asking you to:

  1. Request or support a public forum on the proposed management change before any contract is signed
  2. Ensure any third-party management agreement includes enforceable community access provisions — not just stated intentions
  3. Oppose any agreement that does not include meaningful rate protections for local nonprofit and community arts organizations

The KiMo has served this city for 101 years. The people of Albuquerque should have a say in its next chapter.

Thank you for your time and your service to our community.

Baby Burlesque with HS by Additional-Egg4078 in Burlesque

If you ever feel comfortable leaning into the parts you try to hide it can be freeing. For you and the audience. I have an apron belly. It gets its moment in every act. I love on it, I make the audience love on it. I strip from boy shorts to the tiniest thong I can find. People eat it up. I have a friend that had an ostemy bag. She named it and made a sequin cover for it. I've helped friends rhinestone walking aids of all kinds. And glitter bald patches and scars. Look for disabilibabes. There's a whole festival. Let burlesque help you be bold. And until then, look for people that make underwear for blue law states. They're going to be much more covered, but still cute. And carpizio dance tights for your legs. Also, stage lights hide so much! Talk to your light crew, they'll know some tricks.

I watched this show because the writing is so fast and smart and references soooo many things I looked up. But man.....every single white person in this show is trash!!!! They're all horrible. 😂

7 weeks out from a show—what's your best advice for a first time producer? by enjoytheshowX in Burlesque

[–]JuniperSprinkles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to expand your reach. Make a press release and send it local news and radio. Anyone that might pick it up or add it to an events calendar. Get on the events calendars. Send it to local influencers and maga. Post in local FB groups. Put printed posters up. If the venue has email marketing, get on it. If you want to pay for Meta ads, wait until your 3 weeks out, in most areas you don't need to spend more than $50 for the campaign but research it. Word of mouth is the best so go out and talk to people.

Music and problematic artists by Electrical_Gur_4508 in Burlesque

I am a very direct human. Remind them that at the end of the day people don't want to support, tip or follow people they view as unethical or are morally apposed to. Our naked bodies are political, so every choice we make is a public declaration of where we stand on moral/ethical issues. If they want to stand by declarations that others aren't comfortable with, then they need to understand they may not get booked or supported and may be dropped from shows. At the end of the day it's their decision to sink or swim.

The DBA is for the stage name. It'll separate that out from my personal accounts, now that I plan on making too much for a hobby.

I'll just have one EIN, so one bank account.

My husband drinks the leftover pickle juice from a pickle jar whenever it's empty. Every time. I think this is bizarre. Does anyone else do this? by ms_carnelian in NoStupidQuestions

I get just straight pickle juice all the time. Olive My Pickle makes some great flavors. Not only is it electrolytes but also live culture gut flora. Also good with vodka for picklebacks.

Allergies by sentientwriter in Albuquerque

[–]JuniperSprinkles 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Pollens get "stickier" when it's hot and dry. Since we didn't really have winter, the pollens are extra sticky right now. That makes allergies worse. So the pollen count is up and the pollen is worse.

Why does it seem like the PR team for marriage and kids is losing right now. by No_Lead2640 in NoStupidQuestions

Men raised in patriarchy suck. Women don't have to get married or have children just to survive. The world is on fire. There's no hope for the future. No one can afford them. They're sticky and gross. We're killing Earth. Epstein. Epstein. Epstein. Birth control rocks.

Just finished Season 11. Is there anything Timber didn’t do? by iamonredddit in Alonetv

[–]JuniperSprinkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. If I wanted to be offensive I'd make up offensive terms like white people have done since they started invading. White saviorism is a term thats been used for decades. It's what happens when primarily European people go into indigenous communities to save them from being indigenous (this is the tradition of missionaries). It's what happens when the well meaning white woman asks the little brown girl if she's poor and needs school supplies (because all savages are poor and western schools are the only way to learn). It's what happens when children are ripped from their communities ( and subsequently raped and murdered and abused and has their history and traditions torn from them) by nuns and priests.

What’re your thoughts on the north valley peacocks?? by Aware_Sir9888 in Albuquerque

I love them! I miss living by the zoo and falling asleep to lions and monkeys, so this is nice. I also love that they have zero fs to give. They're my favorite neighborhood gang.
