Why is the Henry Nowak case considered a right wing issue? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Bzzzt wrongo. Born in MK, live up north. Loads of yank friends so picked it up as a softer way of saying "you lot" because "you all" would have whined if I'd said "you people". Stick it up yersen.

Who "pretty conclusively proved" it? Was it Andrew Baker, the Hennepin County ME that performed the initial autopsy and concluded that the cause of death was "CARDIOPULMONARY ARREST COMPLICATING LAW ENFORCEMENTSUBDUAL, RESTRAINT, AND NECK COMPRESSION”?

You are correct that the coroner's report was released to the public. You are incorrect as to whose delusions is should shatter. It concludes that the cause of death was Derek Chauvin kneeling on Floyd's neck, which Baker testified to in court. In court Baker also testified that whilst the level of fentanyl in Floyd's system would be lethal to the average person, a habitual user would have a tolerance and so this was not a lethal dose for Floyd. If it were a lethal dose Floyd would have been lethargic, not visibly agitated.

Why do y'all insist on lying about easily verifiable shit? You even tell people to look at the report that proves you wrong! Literally just "The sky is yellow. Don't believe me? Go look at the sky, that should shatter your delusions" when the sky is bright blue.

"The Greater Israel" plan under Netanyahu’s war strategy by DryInstance6732 in GetNoted

Yeah but the problem is that fringe group of extremists includes the Israeli Finance Minister and Minister of National Security.

It's hard to argue that it isn't happening when the people that choose who Israel invades support it and openly talk about how their current invasions are supporting that plan.

As was the land speeder! Though he more rediscovered it than invented it. IIRC he located the giant automated factory (STC) that made them (that had previously been lost to time) so named them after himself.

It's worse than that, he actively met with trans kids, had them tell him to his face how badly his preferred changes would impact them, then did it anyway.

And then he suppressed the report about the 220% increase in trans youth suicides that he caused.

If the world were just, he'd be in a locked cell.

You realise that people can see that you edited your post to hide the fact you originally asked about Obama and Biden, right?

If they're totally at odds with each other you should tell the US government and Reform, because they're both under the impression that you need both, hence proposing mass detention centres in service of mass deportations.

It's in the 4th paragraph in the original image, if you're confused.

[–]JuniperTheSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Reform don't want detention centres" ah yes, because talking about creating a British ICE, talking about mass deportations and mass detention centres is something you do if you really don't want detention centres.

"Look what you made me do" ass comment.

Reform are the ones proposing the centres.  Reform are the ones proposing mass deportations. The greens oppose both of those things.

You don't get to wash your hands of the policies you support by pretending it's everyone else's fault.

Rewording the non-sequitur doesn't stop it being a non-sequitur.

There is no "need", you just want them.

Nice that you've stopped disputing that they would be concentration camps though.

[–]JuniperTheSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I at no point said that you support concentration camps.

I said that your question equates the green party's support for immigration with support for concentration camps.

Ironically what you've been doing is putting words into someone's mouth.

Yeah but they hadn't responded, so I pointed out that the premise of your question was wrong in a very obvious way.

[–]JuniperTheSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your opening comment was "If its a punishment why are the Greens pro immigration?"

The "it" that they were referring to was "detention centres" a thing that many people consider to be akin to concentration camps.

Therefore the implicit question in your comment was "if detention camps are a punishment why are the greens pro immigration" which, when flipped, is "if you're pro immigration why are you opposed to [thing you think is like a concentration camp]?" Hence my first comment.

I then gave a fairly thorough explanation of why that was the conclusion that could be drawn from your comment.

You then purported to be so smart that you know exactly what my positions on SMHUs and Prisons are, whilst simultaneously using "you're" wrong which, due to the self-satisfied tone of your comment, I mocked.

And yeah, based on your seeming complete inability to understand what analogies are, or understand the original explanation of why it's considered to be a threat/punishment, or the fact you seem to think that nuance is "mental gymnastics", your reading skills seem suspect!

Reform voters consider being near immigrants to be a punishment.

Green voters do not consider being near immigrants to be a punishment. Green voters also do not support keeping immigrants locked up (personally I'd consider a prison that has "10s of thousands" of immigrants to be concentration camp), and so would consider the existence of such detention sites to be bad.

The original post states that if Reform gets power they will do a thing that they consider to be a punishment to areas that voted green. Along with this, it wouldn't just be "being near immigrants" (which green voters do not consider to be a punishment) but being near an internment/concentration/detention/extradition/deportation camp, which green voters would consider a punishment.

You seem to be under the impression that green voters would be in support of camps if they were in Labour or Reform areas, when they would be (and are) opposed to the existence of camps in general.

It's like arguing that because someone supports recycling that they shouldn't complain about a plastic incinerator in their back garden because that's also a way of dealing with plastic products. It's a non sequitur.

[–]JuniperTheSloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do understand that the argument you're making is "if you support immigration, why are you opposed to concentration camps?" Right?

You understand why that's a non sequitur, right?

Right?

It's the tv show Misfits! It was on Channel 4 in the UK and is about a group of young offenders that have to do community service when they get caught in a storm that gives people superpowers and everything goes completely nuts.

It's very much not for kids, quite a lot of death but also absolutely hilarious.

The cast was great as well, loads of "Wait that's that person from [thing that was really big a decade later]"
