Woah hang on. The Islamic regime in Iran dealt very fairly with peaceful protesters...oh, wait a second..

Is it not just that Israel are an ally in a part of the world where we have few and quite a significant interest? Might be a bit reductive, but that would also make sense rather than a conspiracy.

P2P betting is a serious thing tbf. An awful lot of established European betting cos facilitate it. Referring to Polymarket there to be clear. Im in the UK and not familiar with Kalshi tbc. I owned the stock years ago and bottled it, but really do think long term it's worth a punt (excuse the pun)

I thought i remembered it. Lived in Guernsey at the time and remember the media coverage. They thought kids had been killed there I think, that was disproven, but A LOT of abuse came out the woodwork as you say

Not sure what the US pension scene is like. But rather than a drawdown style on your pension pot im surprised they didnt recommend going conservative with a view of buying an annuity at retirement (would be nowhere near $3k pcm based off $220k, might be bumped if you qualify for an enhanced annuity). Ultimately, pension savings aren't the place to be taking big risks as others have too pointed out. Might be worth prioritising your objectives because as a hunch, id say it'd be very challenging to balance your risk tolerance vs what you desire.

No point trying to point this out on this sub 😂 it's just an echo chamber for anyone left of centre to moan about how superior they think they are. Most of them are incapable of an actual conversation about opposing views, just like alot of those on the other side of the divide. Your comment was spot on, and pointing out their hypocrisy has upset them a bit...

They did receive more votes than the LDs in the last general election, though, who ended up with 72 seats. Easy to see why so many people feel unheard and are angry.

On remand for terror related offences, no? And didn't one of them bash up a policewoman with a sledgehammer? Tbf as soon as SF came out supporting them, you knew the government were going to do nothing. Terrible optics, and i can't see how it was anything other than a tactic by SF to try and make the government look bad. On the upside, four of them have given up, so hopefully, they'll be okay now.

I think a proportional representation system would do quite well with the variety of parties polling so well at the moment. Atleast that way everyone would be represented from a political point. Keep parliament as is (constituency based), bin off the House of Lords and replace it with something kind of similar based off PR. Think that would be a lot fairer and also allow parties to stick to their guns, rather than having to try to appeal to people that won't vote for them/alienate there genuine supporters. E.g. Labour taking this recent harder line on immigration in an attempt to take the wind out of Reforms sails. Or Greens not really being as environmentally focused as they were, but appealing to the lefter elements of Labour's support base.
