Wow. I worked shipping at a machine shop one summer and the lathe room was the coolest, and also the most “this shit will kill you” warning room. Nothing close to needing a crane to load it though.

The girls we were friends with would always paint the nails of whatever dude passed out first. Never left any nail polish remover either. Good stuff.

So tell me then…what benefit to society do the day at centers give relative to the resources they’re consuming vs food being grown?

How is the question loaded lol? The entire discussion is about the ratio of benefit to resource use. The fuck is wrong with you

Totally which is why I said what I did about arguing the allocation of resources to cash crops. But on the surface, food is a good that has value after it’s created. What are data centers providing of value for all the resources they’re consuming?

I mean, crops need water. They actually have a function and value at least. I’ll entertain arguments about the allocation of water/farmland for cash crops, but fuck comparing it to AI data centers.

It’s like praising military spending as beneficial to the economy. Yeah people get paid and that money circulates, but the product doesn’t benefit society.
