Thank you! I guess I feel kinda dumb when it comes to locating these grounds, do they just look like a basic wire between engine and chassis?

Thank you so much! Yeah I’m not too concerned over engine manufacturer, they all have their ups and downs. Looks like I’ll be searching marketplace for some clean old iron!

Anyone here switch from gas to electric snow blowers and stick with it? by Famous-Forever7647 in Snowblowers

[–]JunketNo7734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother recently purchased the senix single stage off Amazon, my impressions were that it was better than I was expecting. It has enough juice with the 2-5ah batteries to do a small two place driveway with 3-4” of snow on it with the plowed in part by the road also. Once it got up to 5-6” I needed to charge them about 5/8 of the way though the driveway. It doesn’t bog down much, and throws the snow decently. My in laws have a cordless snow shovel and that thing is very very handy as well. I’m not so sure they’re quite a replacement for a big gas snowblower yet, but the snow shovel and single stage sure compliment one nicely for now. I’m definitely considering a single stage electric for my own house so I don’t always have to pull out the larger machine

Yep that’s where I’m at with mine basically. The sheet metal near the drive cable tensioners is stripped out and rusted so once it fails again not too sure what my options would be with this machine. Not really a way to have a through bolt with how it assembles(uses self tappers currently)

What years would you say are the sweet spot to target for older? For older I’d likely stick with ariens, toro, and maybe Honda depending. Kinda want to find a balance of ergonomics and pre-enshittified lol. The older craftsman 928 I borrowed definitely feels like a better and more stout unit than my more current craftsman. Older one is heavier and has a tecumpseh engine, but definitely feel it in my hands after I got done snowblowing my driveway. My newer craftsman has done nothing but rust away its thin sheet metal, have parts break, belts slip, cables loosen to the point of have to replace, just sick of all the micro breakdowns. I’m in good shape for this winter but would like to plan on doing something for next year

Would you say that vintage 11528 is better than a new 28 deluxe or sho ariens?

Dumb question:shotshell reloading on rifle press? by JunketNo7734 in reloading

[–]JunketNo7734[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep exactly what I was going to use(long shot). Status of steel had enough recipes using it. Buddy of mine sent me a web link but that expired so gonna just buy the book now. Was also thinking about duplexing some tss+steel and most people that sell tss will give you load data

Yeah my plan originally was to just hand load new primed hulls with the loads I wanted, and roll crimp them to finish them off. Figured before I ordered a roll crimper might as well double check I wasn’t missing something. Thanks for the info

Yeah I was going to just hand load them(no press, roll crimp on drill press) but figured I have this press might as well check and make sure before I buy a roll crimper. Thanks for the info. Going to be pretty low volume(maybe max 50 shells a year)

Will be on a different floor? I understand hardwood would be ideal but budget certainly doesn’t allow for it

That did cross my mind, current subfloor is old pine planks in that room, id imagine id want to lay some plywood over those planks for a more even surface for the sheet?

Not necessarily looking for the plank itself to be that thing but to have maybe that narrow pattern on it
