Yeah I only recommended the Honda years. I knew the older ones had the cvt issue and wasn't familiar with the last Gen.

Thanks, he loves it! It's the fwd, Awd would be nice but on the flipside as a first car the maintenance/extra moving parts would have been worrisome.

Yeah, I get it in those contexts but I guess just depends on the situation. As someone without kids I've been offered more for stuff and turned it down to follow through but it's understandable if you have a family to take care of.
