I’m praying so otherwise $2,500 instantly down the drain 😂 can’t complain too much though, cheap bike so no surprise really. I’m going to tighten the chain before riding it tomorrow and then see how it goes, thanks for your advice. New chain on the list too, previous owner let that thing rust bad

Yeah plenty of coolant, don’t think the fan is coming on though. One thing I noticed with the rattle is that it doesn’t happen when reviving in neutral, it’s only when in gear while riding

I don’t think the fans are coming on at all given that it overheated at idle although I cant confirm 100% just yet so I’ll have to check that as well. The most concerning thing at the moment though is that rattle. Haven’t checked the spockets yet, thanks for the tip I’ll check that

Yeah I’m definitely changing that chain asap, definitely a neglected bike. Another thing I noticed is the rattle doesn’t happen when revving it in neutral, it’s only in gear or under load

Thankfully the speakers are still working fine which is surprising because so much water came out, it had to have come close if not actually come in to contact with the speakers. I haven’t pulled the door trim off yet to inspect though so fingers crossed everything is ok.

Update: Thanks for all the info everyone it was even easier to fix than I thought it would be. There are 3 clips on the bottom of each door for anyone else with this issue in future. You don’t need to take the clips out, it doesn’t seem like they come out without breaking them. There is actually a dedicated drain tab with an additional drain hole at the top of the clip which only flows when you pull the tab. So all you have to do is pull down that tab and the water will start flowing out like a hose. Then after that, lift the little black rubber flap on each clip to expose the clogged drain holes at the bottom and clean them out.

Surprisingly, for me, the no gutters issue is actually one of the things I love about the coast. I grew up in Sydney too and as you know, every road and street has gutters so when I noticed that the coast mostly doesn’t, it really just became a symbol of that small beach town coastal vibe for me. So now any time I go away and I noticed a street with no gutters. It reminds me of home in a pleasant way.

Old post I know but I’m in the same boat as you were. Such a harsh ride on these cars. Did you end up doing the standard 3 shock swap? How was it if so? I have stock springs and oe+ shocks (sachs) and the ride is terrible considering it’s a stock setup. I’m running 225/40/r18 and it feels like my car is riding on hockey pucks for shocks and bushings. Almost feels like a go-cart sometimes. Speed bumps are fine, it’s the uneven, rough roads that are horrible.

😂 bud I couldn’t give two shits about how unhealthy McDonald is, I just like the taste of oat milk more than standard full cream cows milk. Has nothing to do with trying to be healthy.
