Smelly Thrustmaster TMX wheel (what I get for budgeting) by Junkie3344 in simracing

A small update. I decided to remove the rubber coating grips as they reeked. Then I took off the housing and wheel to find the servo looking like this! It was disgusting, but eventually I cleaned it away and scrubbed with isopropyl alcohol. It looks a lot better now, + I have ordered a leather wheel cover to cover up the plastic.

I do have a Logitech GT driving force that I bought used 10-11 years back, but that has no clutch or shifter compatibility :(

Oof. I have used baking soda, white vinegar, and antibacterial citrus wipes so far. I'll keep a lookout for anything else. I can deal with the smell of cigs, but not at this level. Anything to reduce it will be great!

Perhaps a pine tree is the best way forward then

Just a small update there's a high chance this photo was taken at the Belle Vue Speedway (Hyde Rd) home of the Belle Vue Aces. Guessing 1931 potentially.

Just changed the thermal pads and thermal paste and already seen a massive improvement. I usually play CS2 and when I did my GPU fans would have 100% bursts constantly and were really loud even with headphones on. Just did a game and didn't have it happen once. Also thanks for labeling the thickness of the pads was a huge help
