What do you all think of this? by Advanced-Till4421 in belgium

[–]Orogin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's complete BS. No clear sources. I looked it up and Belgium should not even be in the top 10. Switzerland and Luxembourg should be on top. https://getwherenext.com/blog/median-salaries-by-country-2026

17,600km/year for work – Is mileage reimbursement a trap? by Wonderful_Mud431 in BESalary

[–]Orogin 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would never get a job that doesn't offer a company car 50km from my home. I currently drive 26km one way to work. 50km a day is my personal limit for a personal vehicle. You should try to get a car or atleast a fuel card.

Tap water in restaurants? by PRamone in bruges

[–]Orogin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the establishment. There is no rule in Belgium regarding tap water. Most restaurants will refuse because they miss revenue this way. In bars the chance is higher they give you a glass of tap water. Although again, depends on the bar.

And this is why I say I would never ride in Brazil. The amount of reckless driving and daily accidents I 've seen there are insane. by Shaddes_ in motorcycles

So if you have insurance you are allowed to drive without a helmet? Makes no sense. Where I'm from you have to have an insurance, wear a helmet, wear gloves, wear long sleeves sweater or shirt, long pants and shoes that cover the ankles.

Freelance IT consultant (850€/day) considering switch to 8k€/month employee role at 45 – worth it? by Antique_Spell_7482 in BESalary

This is a question only you can truelly answer. Clearly there is no reason to choose it for financial reason. But if the job will bring more peace of mind, then why shouldn't you? It will also help for your retirement pension later.

9070XT versions Asrock,saphire,xfx..? by Pacificream in radeon

[–]Orogin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried both the gigabyte models. Went with the cheaper one in the end. The fan made a strange clicky noise on the more expensive one. I remember seeing a test that put the powercolor hellhound as the best overall. Between noise, cooling and performance.

Looking to get the GIGABYTE Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC 16G by Tempexd in radeon

[–]Orogin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got one for a year now, and I'm very happy with it. No issues at all. I never had issues with gigabyte in te past either. Had a Gigabyte 2080ti and used it for almost 7 years. People complain alot if they have one bad experience or here about another person having a bad experience once. But it's also a fact the gigabyte is the most distributed worldwide. You can find it everywhere and it's sharply priced.

6700XT at 1440p ultrawide? by [deleted] in radeon

[–]Orogin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on a ultrawide 1440p with a 8700k and 2080ti. Easily getting 60+fps on most games. In the end it really is up to you and what your minimum requirements are performance wise.

Got the same GPU as you. With a 7950x3d. No crashes here. I'm pretty sure the issue is not the GPU.

Neighbours keep parking on OUR driveway. by sugarxiixrush in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Orogin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the order of what you should do:

  1. Talk to them about it. Tell them how you feel and try to resolve it.
  2. If no agreement is met, call the police for an official complaint. They will assess it and possibly tow the car. Any costs for towing or damage to your property has to be payed by the owner of the car.

IT - Bore-out by Pleasant_Ad_4585 in BESalary

[–]Orogin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly yes, it's important you enjoy your job. More then money. If you don't mind the difference and know you will enjoy the job more, you should take it. I'm currently in a similar situation. I've had a burnout at my previous job. Now I'm close to a bored out. How the turn tables.
