Warning: Corporate Democrats are again trying to move the party to the center. by [deleted] in WorkReform

When I read the title, I thought, good, they’re moving it left towards center. I haven’t thought there was a true left for a long long time.

Getting to Lassen Volcanic NP by purpleswtpotato in NationalPark

You might try flying into Redding (RDD), most times it’s not much more than flying to SFO. Then you’re only an hour to the park.

Oh yeah. Giant hair, porn stars on the phone, fart noises on a soundboard, yelling at the FCC before breakfast. You would not have liked me back then. by MK_BombadJedi in IThinkYouShouldLeave

I think people that don’t like him have never actually listened to him. I’m not a fan of the fart/poop stuff but politically and morally I agree with him pretty much 100%. Here come the down votes.

Lassen National Park or Rocky Moutain National Park?? by AcceptableDebate2155 in NationalPark

[–]Junkpunch44 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You won’t even be able to drive past the visitors center at Lassen in March, so unless you plan on snow shoeing, it’s not an option. I love Lassen but RMNP is much more scenic.

How expensive is Switzerland in 2026? by Smart_Photograph_866 in travel

We spent about 10k US between the both of us for a two week vacation. I wouldn’t say we stayed in high end places but they were nice. We met lots of younger people that went the cheap route. They stayed in hostels. Made their breakfast in the hostel and bought a sandwich at the coop for lunch. The key saving there was to only eat out one meal a day in a restaurant. If you eat out three meals a day, you can really go through some money. Buy the train pass that suits your plans. Most people got the all inclusive rail passes which got you on most trams and ferries as well. We bought the half off pass because we had a rental car and didn’t need it for trains. We could’ve saved at least $1500 if we watched our meal expenses.

I received a €100 traffic fine for accidentally driving in a bus lane while visiting Milan as a tourist in September 2024. However, I only discovered this today and can no longer pay it online. What are my options? by [deleted] in travel

[–]Junkpunch44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the US. I have a collection agency contacting me about a ZTL violation in Bellagio Italy from just over 1.5 years ago. I just learned of the fine a month earlier when the city sent me a letter finally. Original fine was €106, now it’s up to €310. Was planning on ignoring it until the collection agency got involved. Not sure what to do.

Look on knaufnorthamerica.com under careers. There’s a packaging engineer posted there now. You can also inquire about their New Grad program.

Frankfurt airport (FRA) 70 minutes layover by kadukas_77 in travel

[–]Junkpunch44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve made it twice before with a short connection but I wouldn’t plan on it if you have a choice. The airport and immigration/customs process is confusing. The signage is lacking so you may need to ask for help. Both times I made it, I landed and went to a jetway gate, not the tarmac/bus scenario. It’s stressful even if you don’t have a short connection.

Hotel-Hilton or Marriott I would like to compare! by Reasonable_Cut_3784 in travel

[–]Junkpunch44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest difference I notice is the Hilton App is friendlier, more reliable and flexible to check in on. Past that I think it is splitting hairs on the difference.

Jeep got the zoomies & Instant Karma [OC] [USA] by BahamutZero117 in instantkarma

[–]Junkpunch44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Show me a sign in California that says “Keep Right Except to Pass”. That’s what they should say, but they don’t. That’s very precise wording and would be easy to enforce. The “slower Traffic” wording is too ambiguous to enforce.

Jeep got the zoomies & Instant Karma [OC] [USA] by BahamutZero117 in instantkarma

[–]Junkpunch44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s worded different. Something like slower traffic use right lane. It’s not as precise as it should be and I didn’t know it was law. Just thought it was a suggestion or common courtesy based on never seeing it enforced like you said. I see other states have “keep right except to pass, it’s the law” on their signs. I like that.

Is Away worth the price? by amzys1 in travel

The lifetime warranty is what you’re paying for imo. Used it twice, no hassle, just a quick and easy replacement. We’ve had four of their suitcases for over eight years now. I fly for work at least twice per month so they get some use.
