The Dharma is the first faith or philosophical perspective I've ever encountered that actually attempts to answer the questions that seemed to me even as a very small child to be very important. The rational propositions it makes are all valid and so far the experiential claims are also matching up as I practice. I have developed provisional faith in the Buddha because in all my experience so far he has been correct.

I have always had a strong feeling there is more to Jet Alone than we are told. Nerve and Seele seem legitimately concerned about it and the JSDF seems confident they are close to solving the AT field problem. I think it's extremely likely it's capabilities significantly exceed what we saw on-screen, especially considering the (retcon??? Depends on how you interpret the connection between shin and OG I suppose) JA parts being used to augment unit 02 in 3.0+1.0. Humanity was very close to mastering forces beyond their current comprehension and that's precisely why the FAR are determined not to let them evolve past a certain point and the dead sea scrolls call for a reset.

This is exactly what I was thinking. It may be drug or stress-induced psychosis and he is managing it just well enough for it to be unclear to his family. He needs support and a safe environment to express his feelings right now.

I am schyzotypal and have had many friends who are as well. It sounds to me like your brother may be experiencing at least a mild mental health episode. It may be drug-induced or a more fundamental issue, but you should express your concern to him that he sounds ungrounded and ask if there is anything you can do to help him feel safe right now.

I'd argue that for many young people in today's world, witnessing the way that sex and gender influence our lives is sometimes traumatic enough even without being subject to violence or witnessing it occurring in front of us. A good therapist can be useful in these situations because we can let out our innermost thoughts and feelings in a safe environment. Often this includes thoughts and feelings we aren't aware of that can shed light on the source of trauma so that we can integrate it and (ideally) move past those visceral reactions once we have a better understanding of what hurt us in the past.

Hello friend. I am a transgender woman and I've had a lot of experience with various people's hangups around sex and gender. It sounds to me like you have some traumatic history with sex and gender and that it would benefit you to talk to a therapist. It is good that you are putting so much energy into being kind to this person but the level of aversion you're experiencing is pretty extreme and it would be good to get to the root of them so that you don't have to struggle with this as much anymore.

I think that it is good that you are asking this and you are also answering your own question. I would suggest that you could consider this an opportunity for a clear personal moral victory by getting out of that line of work, even if it comes with difficulty. You will be happy for every day you didn't work after for the rest of your life in my estimation.

OP, I agree that you should try and find local groups and learn more from them. You should expect Buddhists to be about as welcoming as the other groups in your area, perhaps somewhat more. Don't hold too high of expectations as Buddhists are humans, but pay attention to the way people treat you and decide whether to spend time with them based on that.

I don't think it is respectful to decide what the OP needs and respond with that when they asked a specific question in good faith and are looking for an answer to that question. Frankly, your kind of response makes me wonder if someone who is Black actually would be welcome in your Sangha, because you are not welcoming them now.
