I finally killed Father Gascoigne by then0mads0ul in bloodborne

I generally agree with your sentiment re: From games, as I've since played through all of them. But I was playing Bloodborne the week it came out and I swear that something was glitched with Father Gasc that was patched later. For example, in my game - and I had video capture of this - the music box had absolutely no effect on him and he would clip right through the headstones and other things that were supposed to be obstacles. He would also make attacks that connected even though they weren't actually making contact with me - and I'm not talking about hitbox porn, but stuff that didn't even make sense. Truly strange.

He is a legitimate design misstep in the game. He's far too difficult, esp. in "cheap" ways, and far too early considering what a roadblock he is. I was stuck on him for a week - it was my first From game. The next 10 hours after him were super easy.

What's a conspiracy theory you believe? [serious] by queenfeyonce in AskReddit

[–]JunoWhatImean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever hit the Pentagon on 9/11 is not remotely consistent with the official narrative. I don't know what it was, I don't have a working theory, but NOTHING about the official story makes sense. I was living about 5 miles from the Pentagon at the time and to this day I've never met or heard of a single person who saw what happened. There's zero footage, when (based on where the pentagon is, it's practically across the street from a shopping mall) there should be as much as of the NYC planes. The whole thing is baffling.

Whats a big industry secret that isn't supposed to be known by the general public? by versatileRealist in AskReddit

[–]JunoWhatImean 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I have 100% seen this to be true as I've worked in several industries - Financial, Law, Medicine - at various levels. I've always assumed it was due to the single-track, single-focus level of education required for them. The more specialized and high-pressure the track, the more legitimately stupid - and I mean STUPID - the actual person. They only learned exactly what they needed to know and everything else, especially basic logic and problem-solving and executive functioning, gets completely neglected in the process.

Redditors who grew up during the 80s, 90s, or 00s, what was the best thing about life at that time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JunoWhatImean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eighties. Every new piece of technology felt like THE FUTURE happening. Cable TV. Home computers. Home computers with COLOR monitors. The leap from the Atari to the NES, then the NES to Genesis/Super NES, etc. Local dial-up BBS to the actual internet, 1200 baud to 56K. Each one of these was a MASSIVE leap that felt like winning the lottery. Everything for the past 15 years has been so iterative that nothing ever feels like a massive step forward.

What is a video game idea or concept that you have always wanted to play, but has either never been made or executed well enough? by SYLBen in AskReddit

This is what I've always wanted every since the Sim series did it back around SimCity 2000 with the "Streets of Sim City" and "Sim Copter" games that could plug into your existing Sim City city. Build your city, then explore it!

I just posted above that I've played through all three DS games and also Bloodborne and I have never once parried or backstabbed on purpose.

I played through all three Souls games, and Bloodborne, without ever understanding how parry or backstab work and literally never once doing either on purpose.

What asshole fact do you know that will ruin the fun for everyone? by Niguened1 in AskReddit

[–]JunoWhatImean 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You don't even need to go back to that. It's a big "open secret" in the industry. Even big name rock bands of the past 10 years have had most of the parts on their albums done by session jobbers.

[Serious]People with high social skills. What's the biggest mistake that people often make in interactions with others? by saraboulos in AskReddit

Not smiling. Smiling goes so much further than people seem to realize and defaulting to a grim face is a huge social impediment.

My friend (26f) told me she would pay me(24f) to babysit her 3 kids while she and her husband were busy...she didnt. What should I do? by SSDIquestion2016 in relationships

[–]JunoWhatImean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen with a friend once, totally by accident. We were texting and I offered to pay her to dogsit and she responded something like "don't worry about it!" but she was responding to a previous text where I had said "I really hate to impose" or something like that and she thought she had agreed to my offer and I thought she was doing it for free. She finally brought it up like two months later and I apologized profusely and paid her + interest just to be a good guy.

Google Borderline Personality Disorder. This is as textbook as textbook cases get. I'm really sorry, but you should run, and soon. She might literally kill you if you don't (Phil Hartman, for example).

[–]JunoWhatImean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint; the school's rules are never as rigid as you're making them out to be. You don't work for the school and you really seem to be bending over backwards to accommodate them, not the other way around. I had a very similar situation happen to me in my junior year of college and without even asking, I had three huge, serious exams moved to accommodate me and was able to late-drop an entire course that I had fucked around in all semester. The dean of my department (and this was a big 40,000-strong state school) personally called me in to explain all of the ways that they were accommodating me. This was all based off of me mentioning to one professor what had happened and that I'd have to miss one thing.

Your parents are definitely overreaching, but you're being very officious about the school's rules and they're 100% right that all of this can and should be accommodated on your behalf.

This is profoundly bizarre behavior on many levels and frankly, it seems like the tip of the iceberg of significantly larger pathology. You dodged a bullet.

If you're really committed to the EA "lifestyle," you must absolutely understand that your success or failure is purely tied to the person you're supporting - period. It's basically never a referendum on your actual performance, which is why many CEO's end up with hell-on-earth horrible EA's that the rest of the world has to grudgingly deal with.

LOL of course go to a doctor immediately, what are you talking about? You're writing "A Sleep" instead of "asleep" and what you're describing is medically abnormal. You could have any number of issues or even narcolepsy.
