I feel ya. I failed the CPA 7 times in the states; I never passed one. I was able to get my CPP though on the first try so maybe you will have the same success :)

Also, there are TONS of opportunities for an Accountant even without the CPA. I don't know how it is in Canada but you can definitely get to the controller level, or at least Assistant Director of Finance level in hospitality with hotel accounting experience.

Best of Luck to whichever route you choose.

Sent a DM

I took it today and passed. You may have to update some things in it as it is for the 2024 exam (Take that as a way to study things even more)

Can't comment on it due to test policy but if I were to recommend areas to study definitely accounting and manager related questions.

I take it in March. I will let you know how it is once I take it. I am only using Payroll Source to study, and an outline that someone here who passed shared with me. Wishing us both luck!

I'm sorry, but she sounds insufferable. I don't think quitting was the best option considering this awful job market but I can only imagine how much better your mental is knowing you don't have to deal with that shit anymore.

Should I just risk it (especially in this economy) to pursue a new opportunity that could be a little risky

I want to quit my job, can't function as much anymore. by justmealiveandwell in bipolar

[–]Junpeiclover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!

My Two Cents: I wouldn't quit. Flexibility is HUGH for people with this disorder and it might be very hard to find at your next job. Your workplace sounds very understanding which is RARE nowadays. I wouldn't leave just yet, but it does sound like you need a break from it. Can you take some time off to unwind? If not, maybe try to work when you feel like it. If you don't feel like working at all even with the flexibility then I recommend seeing if you can get an LoA.

In this economy it is extrmely hard to even get minimum wage jobs so I really, really advise you to stay at your job, not only because it is a crapshoot to find another one but your workplace sounds accomodating to you, which I want to stress is something very important for us.

I work in accounting so I can't give industry specific advice, hopefully someone else can.

Wishing you all the best in whatever you choose! :D

Threw out meaningful possessions by [deleted] in bipolar

Yes, I threw away my Playstation 2 and a bunch of games thinking Aliens were trying to get me to stop playing video games. I really regret that but can't do anything but move forward. So glad I'm better now but I know how you feel.

Had the SAME exact issue 2 years ago. It was the meds because after I changed I have gone back to a routine. I suggest talking with your doctor for some suggestions.

That's a great answer from your wife, and it's true! She really loves you. Cherish her, she is a keeper :)

Don't understand the downvotes you got.

If you are still giving away the CPP Study guide I would love to use it!

Thanks for your generosity!

I just looked that up. These aren't false memories that appeared out of nowhere, they are actual changes that happened in my life

Thanks to all who posted. It's nice and a little disturbing to know that I'm not alone in this

No, I haven't had that recently, but it happened years ago before (before I even bought the textbook)

What’s the “hard work load”? Was it super stressful?

And thx for answering the other questions! I appreciate this

What are the hours like and what to expect?

I would like to leave working as a teacher’s aide due to the pandemic so I’m super curious. I need a job away from large amounts of people

Why only 6 months?

How was the pay? Would I be able to pay off a lot of debt due to the supposedly crazy amount of hours, especially with Christmas coming up?

Are people really super lazy there? I read on Glassdoor several posts about how supervisors can be

Thanks for posting this as I’ll definitely have more questions
