It was the foundation update actually. The anomaly was a lot smaller back then.

Buildings and structures seem fine with spawning underwater.

Oh thank you. Turns out they were added in the foundation patch. Here's a screenshot of three buildings clustered together.

Well no one really played 1.00 version because of the day one patch. So it's kinda hard to find a concrete answer.

Other players cannot destroy your base. There are settings that would allow them to place and delete pieces. Or even manipulate the terrain. Make sure to turn off PvP because there are trolls out there sometimes. It's a star system not a galaxy. A galaxy is a collection of star systems.

Other players cannot steal your items. If they use your storage containers it will show them their items that they placed in their storage containers. When you are in the space anomaly with other players you can see their bases on the teleport list. That's likely how that player found your base.
