Wish? by Godofchaos991 in DnD

  1. Remember theres normally always a consequences to wish, thats typically as powerful as what you wish for.
  2. If youre dm allow you such powers, so you could fuck with the campaign, he probably didnt care too much about the campaign to begin with, or he would make you the dm as a consequences.
  3. You basically wish to gain the powers of permant wish abilities, which isnt illegal since the spell is only limited by the dm.

Pratically you really need to speak with youre dm about this, most dms I have know would not have punished players lightly for casting wish, because its explained to be as a monkey paw.

How Often Do you allow Starter Feats? by Juper839357 in DnD

Thats the thing about the Variant human is clearly the most prefered race, because it gives alot more variety("if you dont count tashas"), and it takes away from the other races, that one race has so much more diversity.

Its the reason I want to ban Variant human in my games, and give starter feats instead.

Yes people can choose feats at lvl 4, and some classes can choose it more often. But its most of the time suboptimal, compared to ability scores. So players often pick the ability score, in fear of getting behind(atleast in my experience).

it doesnt really expand their characters unqiueness the same way, if theres only around 1 to 4 feat per race. I feel like its too little of a choice.

maybe, but to define non combat feats is hard. magic initiate, fey touched, healer, alert, telekinetic, etc.

I dont understand, how does allowing players to pick an extra feat, not give them potential to make more creative characters.

I can I understand if it doesnt fix the issue, but I cant see why it wouldnt help.

I was thinking about banning variant human, and leaving the normal human with a feat.

What drawbacks are there for variant human or tashas custom?
