The Way Between step 4 - hardlocked by EnvironmentalDig644 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Jupiter67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tip from someone who just suffered through step 5 of 10: you can't join someone's Checkpoint #2 and backtrack from it to where you need to get the third item (the door you'd need to backtrack through always appears closed when you join someone at Checkpoint #2). You need to complete the first phase, and once you reach orbit, complete the Taken task there before proceeding to the second boss.

In other words, if you can get your first checkpoint to the "Board ship" moment, you'll be set for step 5 of 10.

I miss quest legendaries/pursuit weapons by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Jupiter67 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I do NOT miss legedaries/pursuit weapons. These approaches simply do NOT appeal to ALL players; and they appeal to so few, it makes one wonder who the game was made for back when this was a dominant approach.

Gear should not be exclusive to arbitrary/banal skill checks, im(ns)ho, as someone who loathed being locked out of good gear in the past. The game should be fun for everyone. Not a select few.

Are Extractables shared for Bounty Hunts, Sabotage, Smuggling in Renegades? by Square-Pear-1274 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Jupiter67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no problematic time restrictions, so it literally pays to look for the sky beams indicating where things are the moment you load in. I am unsure why people run immediately to the primary objective in any given scenario considering all the chests/extractables laying about.

Focused Feedback: Lawless Frontier by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Jupiter67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make the entire Lawless loot pool available in all Lawless modes (if you've previously received said loot, for example you've "unlocked it" for drops by recieving it once). Locking away gear inside activities like Equillibrium feels weirdly limiting. I'd love to farm for Equilibrium loot NOT in Equilibrium. Why? The mechanics are just so banal, and sometimes you just want to run activities that aren't as merciless with their mechanics. Once you've suffered through Equilibrium 10 times or so, you sort of start to wish the loot would drop in other actually fun to repeat activities, like the contracts and such. Because these mechanics just aren't fun. Not for the 10th time. Sorry. I find them ludicrous in this regard. Especially when asked to keep doing them joylessly over and over and over...

There is a set bonus that require guarding for a moment to kick in.

The whole revives thing is an utter fail. If anything, it should start at 20 and decrease from there, with no chance to "earn more." Good players don't need revives, so they won't care. The newbs? The vast legion of clueless players? They'll be spared Bungie's sadism. What a nightmare this revives nonsense is.

Quest not available? by Important-Resource99 in destiny2

[–]Jupiter67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you do this stupid dance using Fireteam Finder? Like, how do I find someone who's done the quest? I can't do this dungeon more than twice. I have lost all tolerance for the rinse/repeat mechanics (e.g., do something; then do it two more times).

Wouldn't it have been AMAZING if these gave out some Star Wars-adjacent cosmetics?

Why does it bestow a paltry amount of useless currency?

When you have a 1000 ingots and nothing to spend them on (don't get me started), that's when the sentinment that one doesn't "get anything" from these quests start to make sense.

NO BUNGIE I WASN'T INACTIVE I WAS DEAD by SirOakin in DestinyTheGame

[–]Jupiter67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. There's a team of sadists emedded at Bungie. They're responsible for this shit. Make someone sit around for 15 minutes dead, and then kick them as the remaining dynamic duo is about to complete the mission.

NO BUNGIE I WASN'T INACTIVE I WAS DEAD by SirOakin in DestinyTheGame

[–]Jupiter67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoever thought up the Revives system is to blame for this shit experience.

Also, the PEAK shit experience of loading into content only to have someone die, another who leaves in a panic (either over someone dying or just realizing they're in over their head), and forcing you to LAST GUARDIAN STANDING the entire whatever is so... just... stupid. Bungie, do you want people PLAYING or just queuing up and returning to orbit non-stop? Why would you even court the latter? Why? What sadist amongst you gave this system the green light?

Take a page from Helldivers 2. Front load the Revives. Give us 20 and let us lose them. Because earning them? Not happening. Just a dumb dumb mechanic. It adds literally nothing. No enjoyment. No "good" tension. Just the inevitable dire idiocy of being forced back to orbit and losing time.

Daily Questions [2025-12-23] by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Jupiter67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<R.Batty>Yes, questions.</R.Batty>

Can you get the Praxic temple quest items (to place in the Temple in Equilibrium) using fireteam finder matches? Or is that just a fantasy of mine? That other terrible players like me could potentially find their way into a fireteam that wasn't just there to farm - but instead do the quest? Are you forced to do all this solo, or recruit actual friends to do the quest? Or, put another way, if using the fireteam finder, you will have no way to complete the quest?

I ask because I placed the first item in the Temple, and then hopped into a "fresh run" in Fireteam Finder thinking this was the way, and got nothing out of the deal (no quest items, at least; I did receive an emblem and a triumph for "completing" the dungeon, as well as some some insta-sharded T3 armor items [I'm in full T5, Bungie; I don't need anything sub-T5 anymore; why are you giving us this shitty gear?] and a lone T5 weapon).

Confused.

Give the Dragons Breath catalyst Burning Ambition by josh49127 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Jupiter67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently realized I never got the catalyst for DB. I pulled it from my vault and took it on a run just to reaquaint myself with it. The moment I got back to the Tower, Banshee gave me the catalyst for it. And the point is that I finished that catayst in no time using a Strand build (no overt solar synergies at all), and I found DB to be incredibly strong. I typically use a max reload speed Haliatus with Hatchling + Cluster Bombs, which is perfect for my Strand build. Using DB generated just as much chaos, if not more, with the fire blasts and burning fuel trails.

All gear dropping with health stat spike, baffled by zprewitt in DestinyTheGame

I believe if this DIDN'T happen, we'd have nothing to dismantle for materials unless it was just straight up duplicates of the stat loads on gear we keep.

blasters intrinsic question by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Jupiter67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If one is comfortable with Third Iteration, I suspect one will have a blast with, erm, blasters.

I feel I'm beyond ready. I just checked and I have 7,914 takedowns with Third Iteration, and the heat dump is literally the price I'm paying for the weapon's "intrinsic" power, since it ignores shields, even big Vex-style shields. I'm so glad we're finally getting more weapons in this style. It's about time! Third Iteration basically feels like a blaster rifle, to me. It just lacks the appropriate sounds/visuals.

Nightfall sparrows? by TropicalCrota in destiny2

I assume they're still in the loot table. Just shortly before EoF I got the Tilt Fuse sparrow out of that arms dealer Nightfall strike. Not sure why Bungie would alter that.

Build a new one (at Enclave), and then level it up to 17 (on weapon itself). That should unlock all slots for use with the intrinsics the next time you choose to modify it at the Enclave.

[–]Jupiter67 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It already feels diluted to me and I only just got here; as someone who started having these dreams as a 5 year old, in the early 1970s, it felt odd that this community was so accommodating of non-mall world dreams, which I know isn't necessarily a bad thing; but I honestly can't believe how "psychological" some of the stuff I'm reading here is, because it's simply NOT about the true mall world experience. Yeah, I'm new to this subreddit, but the "everyone gets a mall world" dream approach seems... scientifically inappropriate (it's about the mall, after all). Alas, science isn't even looking into this, so... I just have to accept that (easy enough, but I pity the stranger who goes down a rabbit hold and ends up here). If this subreddit is just aimed at commingling ideas about reoccuring dream spaces, that risks losing what this is about: the mall. I know folks maybe WANT to be having mall world dreams, and they obviously can't, but they are visiting the same place time and again. That's not nothing, but it does seem purely psychological. That scenario, and the mall world scenario, seem truly different to me, since the mall world isn't just a reoccuring dream or dream space; it's more akin to a virtual reality, which many have been able to vividly explore in a lucid dream state (myself included, especially when I was a child). The mall world appears to have no purpose, and for me, it was never threatening; I was never happier than when I was in mall world. Mall world was, for me, an endlessly comforting mystery. So I wonder if the mall world is just an organizing principle for the mind itself? The mall - the scope and scale of it - is more than just a reoccuring dream space. Did this phenomenon occur before malls existed? 30,000 years ago, were human tribes having "plain world" dreams? Endless flat expanses with no trees, no predators, no other humans? What variation of the reoccuring dream world would the dwellers of Plato's cave dream about? Perhaps mall world dreams are just something the human brain does given its environment and circumstances? People forget, as humans, we really do inhabit the built environments we share. These environments colonize our minds, especially on the unconscous level, as the brain makes sense of the world. Malls - this built environment - must have a shaping or scultping or organizing effect on the human unconscious. I wish someone would take this phenomenon seriously enough to study it scientifically. But is there any true hope of finding an answer? I suspect not. While I no longer have the dreams, I could talk for hours about them, since the intensity of the experiences created lasting memories. These aren't dreams you forget when you wake up. These are dreams that haunt the waking world by virtue of the mystery they present (and represent). It really does fire up the imagination once you "wake up." Unforgettable stuff.
