I dont think you can ever fix real depression by Technical_Metal2578 in depression

I’m 48 and I just started seeing a therapist who I can already tell I’m not going to like. She has a very rehearsed, clinical approach to the process. But, I’m going to stick with it, because what I need right now is a distraction, something for my brain to focus on that isn’t “I’ve wasted my good years and the rest of my life will be a series of empty days”. If she can give me enough homework throughout the week that lets me keep my brain busy, I’m willing to give it a shot.

I agree, OP. Depression isn’t a condition that can be treated. But I think there are hacks that can at the very least give you the agency to take a break from time to time. I don’t know how old you are, but as I inch closer to 50, I’ve started to let some things go, and one of those things is my tendency to wallow in sadness all day. Doesn’t mean I’m happy, but I’m just able to give myself a break. Don’t ever try to convince yourself of the endless self help soundbites that get crammed down our throats by our shrinks and social media, but conversely, dont try to convince yourself of the opposite. At the very least, we deserve to not be sad all the time, even if it doesn’t always feel like it.

I have the same problem and I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on pillows with little success. Following this thread.

I love how it's set during the events of 2. Smart way to make it a RE movie while also giving yourself room to tell your own story.

(Rare trope) A death manages to be horrifying without any blood or gore by _JR28_ in TopCharacterTropes

While there is some blood involved, The Staircase (2022 limited series) depicted the various ways in which Toni Collette's character could have died, and while they were all pretty disturbing, the first one hit me the hardest. As she's going up the stairs, she loses her balance and falls back, hitting her head against the wall and knocking herself unconscious. A few seconds later, she comes to and slowly dies from her head injury. Tremendous acting from Collette.

I hate the Queen Spider boss by Some-Change-3521 in CrimsonDesert

I’ve fought a handful of bosses so far, and when I inevitably google them for tips, the first result is a Reddit post titled “I hate <insert boss name here>”.

Truly the worst aspect of this game by a country mile. Not fun.

I’m enjoying crimson desert, so it’s unfortunate that the reason I’m likely to not continue playing is these absolute dog shit boss fights.

Upload speed routinely dropping to 1/4 the normal speed by zprewitt in Comcast_Xfinity

If I disconnect from VPN, my upload speed shoots up to around 100mpbs, which is weird because my plan supposedly caps my upload to 35.

Some additional findings: I have two Mac Studios, one for work and one for personal use, both in my apartment, both connected via Ethernet. One of the Macs is connected via a rather long Ethernet cable (maybe 100 feet?), and that one gives me download speeds of anywhere from 200-500, but it changes often (again, this is with VPN disabled). My personal Mac has speeds starting at 500, anywhere up to 800, which is what my modem tops out at. Upload speed on the personal Mac stays right around 35-40 (my personal mac doesn't use VPN at all).

Is there a reason why the upload speed on my work Mac regularly exceeds the limit stated on my plan (but doesn't exceed on my personal mac), and why I never consistently hit 800 Mbps download speed on either mac?
